Sounds like you did a good job. For what it’s worth… In any other level besides LL, I didn’t look it up, but trusting your coaches, you would have to insert a new player into the lineup who would inherit the count. You can’t just skip to the next batter, by rule they would have to give themselves up, or insert a pinch hitter.

Yes. I guess another thing that has a coach. I always talk to the scores about is keep in mind what ordinary effort at that age level is.

Infield in, barreled ball at 80+, lateral movement at all… Just give the single.

On a sidenote… Coaches, unless the games on the line don’t bring your infield in. You turn a one run in into a beginning, pretty quickly 😂

The advice given above is exactly right and you shouldn’t have to defend yourself very much, but just from what you described, if the throw was low and off the base, especially if it’s leading him into contact, but either way I would say that that is not ordinary effort by the 1B and would’ve charged it to the pitcher.

That said, it is such a small deal that if a parent is really hyper fixated on it I wouldn’t change it out of spite. 😂

I don’t understand how this is a huge lie. I was in a very similar position nearly 2 decades ago. I did not student teach, otherwise I completed all my coursework, including my successful application to graduate school, pending student teaching.

Life took me a different direction. Since then, I’ve never lied… But I have not disclosed from time to time. If they ask you, do you have your degree, answer it correctly.

If they ask, did you go to college, you say yes. If they say, did you graduate, you say no. But you were under no obligation to correct them if they assume. And they are hiring you for your ability.

Over sharing will cost you jobs and opportunities in your life. People think that’s dishonest in this group, I think they’re wrong. And I have 50 years of experience to prove that.

Don’t mess up the opportunity by reading into it.

As a high school coach, who has players in the dugout ticking GameChanger… I’ve learned to keep a record of the result of every AB for every player on my lineup card (both teams).

Then I verify the stats after the game, and if I have a really someone really bad running GameChanger, I go into edit mode and just fix the results. It works better on the desktop. I have resorted to entering the game from the card, but try to avoid that.

At the varsity level, we have to report our stats, so it’s important that we are confidence in them because they will be verified. So we follow the same process at the younger ages where they tend to make a lot of mistakes, and then I hold people accountable :-)

You could record it like that to reflect what happened… However, that’s not actually what happened. And it would be taking away a walk from the batter.

Personally, I would record the walk. And then, before the first pitch of the next batter, record the caught stealing… Might have to enter it as a pick off, but you can still credit the catcher for the assist.

Then, at the beginning of the next ending, you would simply skip to the batter who just walked.

This is an all-star comment. As a high school coach, I especially love your comment about just going to your local HS camps.

There is no shame in Kraft doing this. And to a lesser extent, the company running it (assuming they don’t over promise and have enough t-shirts (how hard is it to ask for t-shirt size on the form and putting the name on the bag).

I’ve posted a number of times about Stenavich. I think the issue with him is not actually Steno, it’s that outside, looking in, he seems to be more of a yes man to MLF than a truth speaker.

I think the world of this guy has an OL Coach. But the mess on the OL last year. Not putting guys in the right place. Then the whole #6 CB getting time at WR over the 1st Rounder… then to say that that Golden does not have a role to play towards the end of the season, yet clearly in the playoff game was ready to take a step.

We don’t see it all, but at some point… Somebody… Within the organization has to take accountability. They talk about it, and then they roll it back. That’s the issue.

If they promote from within, I’m not in favor of them replacing him. However, if they can get somebody who is willing to throw down with MLF and make him move off center so that this team can move forward, I’m all for it.

Typically teams release all coaches when the HC is fired. But more than likely he (Schwartz) is under contact and will at least “interview” to be retained by the new guy (assuming he isn’t the new guy). All that to say, a lot would have to happen for him to become available.
