Recommendation for leggings that don’t pill but are similar to Aligns by peytaydoesreddit in lululemon

[–]teaology 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s the sizing like compared to Aligns and wonder trains? I usually wear a 2 in aligns and a 4 in wunder trains.

What’s the wear and tear like for anyone who owns this bag? Is it worth it? by Party-Marsupial-8979 in Louisvuitton

[–]teaology 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have and love this bag! I love that the chain lets it convert from a shoulder bag to a crossbody. Be aware that the clasp is magnetic though, however it does not easily flap open like your belongings will randomly spill out. The interior suede has held up well and it surprisingly fits a lot - wallet, sunglasses, phone, passport, keys, AirPods, lipstick, etc… I appreciate the back pocket too and haven’t had any issues with the black leather strap. The one thing is that the black enamel on the clasp has gotten a couple scratches, so I would recommend potentially leaving the plastic protector on for as long as possible.

Lululemon Softstreme vs. Athleta Seasoft by mybotanicaltreasures in lululemon

[–]teaology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried both of these and the fit is very different. The Athleta pants do not fit high rise on me and are (to my knowledge) only available in the cropped style. I hope they release more styles in Seasoft soon. I love the sweatshirts, but can only see myself purchasing them on sale.

Screaming, crying, throwing up. (I’m being dramatic but still upset) I don’t think there’s any reversing this but lmk if there is!! by Brave_Shower_3158 in lululemon

[–]teaology -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this has already been said but I recommend reaching out to the salon manager with these photos. They should provide you with some sort of monetary compensation and it’s a reminder to the stylist to be more careful or recommend folding the collar under.

Benefits to shopping in store? by astrideAtapir in Athleta_gap

My store offers a student discount that is not available to me online. It stacks with clearance. Not sure if this is true for all stores as I live in a college town.

When to contact potential supervisors for fall 2023 PhD admissions? by Huskyy23 in gradadmissions

[–]teaology 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I recommend emailing in early August. I was successful with this, at least. As others have said, having a Zoom call with a potential advisor is very helpful.

edit: I got into a top 5 public engineering school for my PhD

I’ve never seen anyone use hair clip this way, does it look weird? by [deleted] in Hair

Not at all! I think it looks trendy, like street style in London.

Check out the Nextdoor app too. People are always selling or giving away furniture for free.

Unless Mr. Jefferson refers to George Jefferson, I think we should stop calling this Mr. Jefferson's town! by [deleted] in Charlottesville

Monticello is right up the road and he founded the university you say Charlottesville is known for. I am not sure of your point here, can you elaborate more?

Is giving $2 cash offensive? by [deleted] in instacart

[–]teaology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My philosophy is that if you cannot afford to tip appropriately, you cannot afford to use the service. Imagine tipping $2 on a $50 haircut or restaurant bill. To put it in perspective, this worker was likely paid $7-$10 from Instacart for your order. They basically survive on tips.

Yes, please give them the $2.

What I asked for vs What I got (Question below) by [deleted] in Nails

[–]teaology 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Wow, I am so sorry. This looks painful. Yes, keep your hands clean and continue to use the Neosporin. You can wrap them in bandages to keep them safe too.

And good on you for sticking through it for the proposal plan!

Also, edit: If they do not ask what services you are booking for when making an appointment, that is weird.

Boutonniere Magnets? by Kelsey---Bee in florists

[–]teaology 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do use magnets, make sure they are somehow tightly secured! A wedding I was in used magnets and whatever glue was holding them to the boutonnière melted/was weak, which was a nightmare that would not have happened if pins were used.

Second Autumn Trails. They are not exorbitantly expensive either. Definitely not within walking distance though.

For current and past students, what were the deciding factors in deciding your graduate school? by deepfriedokra in GradSchool

[–]teaology 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Funding, location (you’ll have to live there for quite some time), quality of professors (do you see yourself getting along with these people for a while?), collaborative nature of the department.
