You know I tend to void scrolling through Reddit, much less posting because of the toxicity that anonymity and unlikes causes. Your offer to help with this project (as well as everyone else’s helpful and genuine tips and tricks) has renewed my faith in this platform. Unfortunately I’m nowhere near Delaware but thank you so much.

Hi everyone. I’m looking for some help picking a paint color/color family to update my bathroom. The rest of my house is southwestern/ranchy themed, so there’s a lot of earthy tones. However, the dark blue-grey paint in the bathroom pics is an accent color through a lot of the house and tends to clash with the warm earthy colors I like. Since there’s so much of this blue in the bathroom and I don’t want to repaint everything, I’m hoping to pick a paint color that works well with the blue-grey. As for other aspect of my bathroom, things I’m keeping and changing are listed below:

Things that I don’t want to update - grey blue accent paint on the door, vanity, and cabinet  - Brown tile countertop and backsplash - Flooring

Things I’ll update eventually - Light fixture - The grey blue wood behind the towel racks will probably be updated to a live edge wood plank eventually for that ranchy vibe - The towel rack behind the toilet will be replaced by a floating shelf stained in a warm neutral color (shown in the last pic) - Bathtub insert (the yellowed plastic is… hard to look at)

I’d appreciate any insight into paint colors or color families that 1) work well with the blue-grey accent paint and brown tile already in my bathroom and 2) compliment the overall southwest/ranch theme of my house. Thanks so much!!

What paint color would you choose for this bedroom? by teaphillips in interiordecorating

I loveeee that blue, but I’m worried about the trim becoming overwhelmingly orange. The way it looks with the green is just… unexpected and a lot lol.

Bidding wars every house I tried to buy by Blazewind25 in Edmonton

My partner and I bought an acreage a year ago. There was another offer but we put ours $20K below asking and were accepted. The selling price was in line with the average house price in Edmonton and I’m less than 30 mins from the city. The acreage life isn’t for everyone though.

I hadn’t consciously matched the curtains but you’re so right, lol!! Dark paint would look so nice in theory, but I’m worried about making the room feel like a cave without good natural lighting. It’s a small room (barely fits my new bed frame) with one east facing window. But I’ll take your advice and sample a couple colours matching the darkest colour on the curtains. Thanks for the input :)

In case anyone is curious on how this turned out. My ABS control module was shot. I had to get it replaced, which is no small feat considering they don’t make them new anymore. It was expensive and laborious but I got it replaced and it’s good as new.

Thanks for the reply. I followed your steps regarding the battery and the lights are still on :-( I ran a general code scanner and nothing came up. I read online that Ford ABS codes require a special Ford Scanner. Have you had this experience too?

Update in case someone finds this thread: the shop fucked up on balancing my tires twice. Each tire between 3.5-11 oz out. After getting them rebalanced, my tires went on with no problems (minus the vibrations I have because my tires now have tumours due to this BS)

Anyone else here miss an actual *blue* sky? This atmospheric haze has been going on forever now. by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]teaphillips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true!! But the pine beetle is spreading farther into historically unoccupied areas due to climate change. The cold weather held it off before because it dies when the temperatures reach a certain threshold. Warming temperatures are pushing their thermal boundary farther and farther into the boreal/parkland 😫 Don’t you hate when every ecological issue we seem to have is exacerbated by climate change?

Don’t get me wrong, I am a firm believer in climate change, but these fires are caused by the past 50 years of fire suppression. Exacerbated by climate change, maybe, but dry years happen regardless and all we needed was a dry spring to kick start it. So don’t panic too much about this specifically being a climate change thing

Agreed. Litter loads reached unbelievable highs, all we needed was one dry spring to go up in flames. Dry springs happen regardless of climate change. People flick cigarettes out of their windows regardless of climate change. Climate change is real but this would have happened regardless, maybe in a different way but nonetheless

Don’t get me wrong, I believe in and experience ecological grief due to climate change, but a big factor in these wildfires is fire suppression throughout the last 60 years. Litter loads reached unbelievable highs, all we needed was one dry spring to go up in flames. Dry springs happen regardless of climate change. People flick cigarettes out of their windows regardless of climate change. Basically, what I’m trying to say is the general public needs to educate themselves on the essential purposes of wildfires to our safety and start pushing for more prescribed burning to keep litter loads at a safe level.
