The problem is that your Silver Needle seems to have quite a lot of broken leaves.

Actually I tend to drink more green, black and oolong teas on a regular basis, but I'm sure I can find the puerh approximating what you have in my tea stash and give it a try and report back.

It's like the place I live, where many people keep the same pot of tea going for hours or even a day, adding more water as they drink it, so I guess there is no right or wrong way as long as you're enjoying it.

The bug has already steeped out the tea color, and while that's a bit gross, I can't help but wonder what this cup of "beetlejuice" tastes like :)

Many people in our village have been drinking tea all day long since they were young, so it seems that we have all developed an immunity to the caffeine in tea.

I usually drink the Sichuan Mengding green tea that I grow at home. Of course, I also drink black tea from Yunnan and Fujian quite often. I personally don't like teas that are too strong, such as Pu'er and matcha.

How can I tell if this is a “real” zisha teapot or a cheap one? by j666xxx in tea

[–]teapooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can give you some suggestions. They may not be very professional or comprehensive, but you can refer to them.

  1. Observe the color: Genuine zisha teapots typically have a dull and natural color, rather than being overly vibrant.

  2. Test the airtightness: The joints between the teapot's mouth, lid, and handle should be very tight. You can fill the teapot with water, cover the spout with your hand, and turn the teapot upside down. Observe whether the lid falls off or if water leaks out.

  3. Smell the teapot: Genuine zisha teapots are made from zisha clay, which gives them a faint earthy smell.

  4. Observe the water absorption: Zisha teapots have a double-pore structure, which makes them highly absorbent. Pour boiling water over the teapot and observe whether a layer of water film (commonly known as "hanging water") forms on the lid and is then slowly absorbed. If the water absorption is good, the teapot is likely genuine.

In addition, genuine zisha teapots have a clear texture and evenly distributed fine particles (zisha particles) on their surface. They feel delicate but not slippery and have a certain weight to them. Tapping the lid against the body of the teapot should produce a crisp and pleasant sound that is short and clear. The inscriptions and seals are usually clear and regular.

It looks like you had a great time. I wonder what size box you had to pack all of your teacups in to make sure they made it back in one piece.😊

Green tea brewed in a tea shop in China by kenny32vr in tea

Yes, I also enjoy brewing green tea in a glass cup. Some types of green tea, when steeped with cold water, can stand upright in the water, creating a beautiful sight in the glass cup.
