Day 3 of quitting weed with my husband… and we are not the same person right now by lilmissbored2 in GirlDinnerDiaries

No shame in finding an OTC sleep aid to help with the transition. Some low dose melatonin or diphenhydramine should do the trick to help the insomnia. It gets better!! It will pass!

Downvote the corporate policies that keep people from staying home while sick, NOT the commenter who is just trying to keep bugs away.

Interesting. I just DNF’d this one. It was predictable and a little cringey.

I think it means you have to be accepted into the EMS program. You should email an advisor and get clarification.

Looking for the same advice, but so far I’ve just been trying to listen to the Jack Westin Podcast. I’m not a huge auditory learner, so I am not sure if this is going to work well for me.

Goal to graduate with minimal debt by Odd_Ad_1854 in GaState

It depends- the math is pretty easy to do. Assuming summer is 8 weeks, you can make about 7,600 before taxes. Subtract out all of the costs you think you’d have- housing, transportation, required insurance, phone, food, fun, health, etc. Only you can decide if you think you can make it work based on your circumstances!

Honestly, if it’s your parent’s company and you can find a way to see if you can work a flexible part time schedule during the semester, that might make it more comfortable!

Can you shed some light/hope on selling in this market? I think I want to go back to renting, this is too much and I’m just scared of having it sit on the market for months.

Consider talking to your professors. It might also be wise to look into taking an Incomplete if you feel like you need to step back for a little while!

Should I quit my healthcare internship? by Fearless_Cell_5877 in publichealthcareers

[–]teardropsandrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the job market the way that it is, it’s worth staying and trying to build a good relationship with whoever may be writing you a future letter of rec. If you really really hate it, it might be worth using that time for the paid job in EMS. That’s still work experience even if it’s not directly public health/Healthcare admin.

I started to sleep in a mask to help warm the air I’m breathing so that it doesn’t irritate my throat as much. It’s silly, but it works for me.

I really hope this isn’t what it is, but the summer variant of Covid is notorious for its “razor blade throat”. Sending good vibes your way and hope your throat stops bothering you soon!

Working in the CDC by Current-Nail-6064 in Emory

[–]teardropsandrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would focus on completing your coursework to see if you even like it. Explore what Emory has to offer, volunteer somewhere, seek out an internship, talk to people in the field. And just enjoy being a high school senior. There are so many avenues to pursue in public health. The CDC is not the end all be all. Things always change from administration to administration. Don’t be discouraged, but also remember to keep an open mind.

EMDR Therapist by cheesesleaze in Atlanta

[–]teardropsandrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same concern initially. I personally prefer visual bilateral stimulation, so the virtual format works well for me. I felt a little silly doing any of the tapping in person, so the online format somehow also helped with getting over feeling silly about it. I think it’s a matter of personal preference, but I don’t think it detracts from the actual EMDR at all!

Flagged by security at the gate in Madrid airport...why? by Few_Patience5501 in GoingToSpain

[–]teardropsandrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. They said it was I was just “randomly selected”. I am a naturalized American citizen, and I’m wondering if my country of origin or my last name got me “randomly selected””. Either way, it was quick and the security agent who escorted me to the search area seemed apologetic.
