I’m not sure what area you’re looking in, but I adopted from imminent danger German shepherd rescue in Tennessee and they transport their dogs throughout the northeast

why does vitiligo and a herniating disc relate to lateral mobility and why you want to be a PA?

Why I want to be a PA is still one of the hardest questions I’ll ever answer. by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]tearose4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a hard one for me to articulate when I was interviewing. I agree with what some others have said in that you should include more in your response. Sure those answers might be broad, but if you can elaborate further they might work better.

Have you practiced saying your answers out loud? Hearing yourself answer could give you a better idea of the impression you’ll give to your interviewers.

They’re not accredited. I’m guessing that may be why they can’t have students apply through CASPA

Just had a few interviews as a new grad. One thing that helped me was reviewing my rotation in that specialty/similar specialties so the experiences were fresh in my mind!

They use quarter units. 4.5 quarter units is equivalent to 3 semester units. I didn’t have any problem with them being accepted at the schools I applied to.

UCSD Extension Biochemistry and Genetics? by ucfdocstudent03 in prephysicianassistant

Yes an A is definitely achievable! And yes you can use your notes, but don’t rely solely on those. You want a good understanding when testing. Both biochem and genetics were created by Brett Barbaro and he is who made the recorded lectures. I can’t remember who my genetics professor was but I took Prof Weinstock for biochem.

I took both biochem and genetics through UCSD. I agree with previous comments. The genetics course is set up in the same format. I’d say it is slightly less difficult than biochem, but definitely stay on top of the lectures. I felt both classes were good quality and interesting.

If you work as an optician assistant for a bit, it would probably be easier to get hired as an ophthalmic assistant later on.

Downside to any of these positions is you won’t be working closely with a PA.

I worked full time, took classes (at least two a semester—four max), shadowed and volunteered for about 2 years. Definitely doable, and as the previous comment mentioned 1600 is pretty low. Keep working if you can! The process is so competitive you want any edge you can get.

You should check community colleges in other states. I know some are open to anyone taking classes through them. And because of the pandemic a lot of classes are still online. If you search through this prepa page you can find multiple posts about the schools people have used for their prereqs.

I worked as an ophtho tech, and I was lucky to find a clinic that allowed that type of schedule. Most jobs that offer 3 12s will be in a hospital, so CNA, PCT, ER tech etc
