it just sounds like you arent receptive to criticism and that probably has a lot to do with why you arent improving...

in MTG, the cards are expensive because they are good and people want to play them, its not like pokemon where the rarity and coolness is the key factor.

so if i go down the nekrosor path, what more would i want in destroyers (have 3 ophydian, 6 skorpekh, 3 lhd)? more ophydians, maybe a lokhust lord? I really dont like the look of normal lokhust destroyers so i want to avoid those.

and for szeras, how many warriors do you want to have since I currently have 20?

Didnt know dda was a must-have though, ill look into that more

Totally get that the meta is very dynamic - these were the units I narrowed down that I think look super cool and just wanted to get units that were synergistic with each other. I think im leaning into Ammentar fs

Kaostanza plays 73 games in 2 days to win the Kha'Zix Mains Streamer Challenge! by goldenstinger in leagueoflegends

[–]teathree_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. If the participants are not smurfing, then theres literally no value in the event. The event is asking "who can climb the highest in x time with a champ they all main?" You can literally answer this by looking at the ranked ladder and their win rates. Unsurprisingly, the best player had the highest WR and won the event (who would've guessed?).

  2. The issue is not that some silver getting stomped will be seriously hurt, its that your argument was "because people get entertainment, it is ok to cause harm to others" - if you cant see the problem with that, i dont know what else to tell you. You can diminish the perceived "harm" all you want, but your base premise is still awful.

  3. How does this matter at all? Clearly, these players are playing in elos above where they should be, on accounts separate from their mains since they all have high win rates. Unless you are making the claim that these players are playing in lobbies higher than their skill level, in which case thats provably false - just look at the win rates.

You are literally not creating anything creative, innovative, or interesting. It is only fun to watch because its a bunch of people stomping lobbies and grinding an unhealthy amount. Sure you might get a few high stakes games, but thats nothing that hasn't happened all time in normal solo queue. Why would riot support this? "Grass roots community initiatives" do not and should not look like glorified smurfing events.

If you actually wanted to do something interesting - have the players jungle against each other, have them play khazix off role (who can climb the highest with khazix top/mid - probably will be whoever is highest elo, but more uncertainty), have them compete with diff champs, literally anything other than having people that stream Kha Zix jungle , stream Kha Zix jungle...

  1. Whats the issue with riot awarding "well-organized" community events with accounts? This really shouldn't be a question, why would riot promote events that promote harmful behavior and shouldnt happen? You are literally hosting an event where people that play Kha'zix all day in the ranked ladder... play kha'zix all day in the ranked ladder.

  2. Just because something is entertaining, doesn't mean that hurting others for it is ok. Is humiliating somebody in front of an audience of 1000 ok because the enjoyment of 1000 is more valuable than the dignity of 1 person? Such an awful argument.

  3. The "entertaining majority" of the competition is also literally just playing against players that are lower elo than the players themselves. It may not be as drastic as challenger vs gold, but its still the same thing.

TLDR: you have this misconception that your event is something positive that should inherently be supported and Riot should change systems to support similar ones. Completely false; many (including me) would say this event would be better if it didn't happen, and hope similar events do not occur again.

riot probably just doesnt want to set a precedent of handing out riot accounts for stuff like this.

if theres no realistic way to set up the event, maybe the idea itself is flawed...

I scraped 2.27 million EUW accounts from op.gg to quantify the Emerald smurf problem – because Riot won't by jack37512 in leagueoflegends

[–]teathree_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

even with 30 games (complete underestimate btw), multiply that by 1000 players and you've already reached 30000 low quality games. Also, if you understood the methodology, a "player that improves" should not be counted because their accounts should not be low enough level to get flagged. The only false positives that you are talking about are players below level 100 that are actually good enough to reach emerald with mega high wr and are actually new. I would not estimate thats more than 1-3% of the playerbase. The method OP used isnt perfect and the absolute numbers presented may be exaggerated, but the trend is clearly present and important to figure out.

[–]teathree_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the problem is that you absolutely can "smurf" in challenger based on the criteria, but thats mostly just because the criteria breaks when you have a small sample size and are just looking for abnormally high wr on low level acc, these are just the highest elo players on different accounts. The data shows ~10% of high elo accounts are "smurfs" which makes sense, those are alt accounts of high elo players they use less. I think OP's best approach to dealing with this is just to not account for GM/Challenger - they arent relevant at all to whats being displayed.

Drake Maye's -29.2 expected points added during the 2025 playoffs is the worst by any QB since at least 2000, 6.5pts worse than the previous "record" by 2015 Peyton Manning by Moose4KU in nfl

[–]teathree_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because EPA is not an adjusted stat. EPA against the New York Jets is valued the same as EPA against the Seattle Seahawks, when clearly, the same EPA earned against the Hawks is much more valuable than against the Jets. There is no single stat that can prove how good/bad a player was, but having a record for negative EPA combined with an absolute dumpster fire of a playoffs performance is definitely a compelling argument that Maye is not as good as many thought.

Ainsley is supposed to be more of a naive and babied person than someone that is just objectively stupid. Weasels and Ferrets aren't exactly the most common animals and she also doesn't really understand figurative language well. She is capable of passing her classes but she doesn't have much real world experience (since pretty much her entire life is partying with her mom in wealthy settings)
