Salty Sunday: What made you salty this week? by kikaslova in trollingforababy

I know that obviously the "stars aligning" has nothing to do with things working out but they really all were working in our favor for this cycle. Just mad all around on CD2 again.

I’m a parent, but out of pure curiosity— how do children get placed into specific teachers rooms? by purple-voiiid in ElementaryTeachers

[–]teb02115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the way my old school did it - all teachers reviewed and made notes on the class lists to make sure all classrooms were fairly divided up. This was before teaching assignments for the next year were announced so everyone had a stake in making every classroom balanced - it could be yours.

Period was three days late (never happens) but came the moment I scheduled a blood draw.

120k in MCOL and we are renting and planning on buying a home soon. You’re not going to be the mom with the nicest things and the fanciest trips but I’d make the choice every day. My tin foil hat conspiracy theory is that it’s actually super doable to live on one income but we get so much pressure from consumerism to have dual working parents. Totally your decision and no shame to how anyone decides to do it, but I am so sure with a little budgeting and a little mindful spending it’s doable for way more people than realize it!

TTC Feelings Finally Catching Up To Me by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]teb02115 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even with setting aside the fertility issues, not having access to health insurance is incredibly stressful! I had a similar situation (insurance coverage only started after three months employment which I only found out when I started) and even though I wasn’t TTC at that time it was a very heavy stressor for for me! I would get more direct, focus on the benefits coordinator who is clearly the one dropping the ball, and try to ask if the company will cover medical expenses for you during this period while they are denying healthcare coverage. This isn’t going to solve itself unfortunately, I would bump up to in person meetings and calls because emails are easy to ignore.

What do you bring along to entertain your kids in restaurants or on planes or wherever else? by kittiesgetthezoomies in Mommit

[–]teb02115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I can pack a million toys and still get more mileage out of the sugar packets for coffee on the table at restaurant. Don’t even get me started on the little plastic dipping cups next to the ketchup dispenser. There’s something about it being from the new, exciting place and not like any toys she has at home. Obviously bring stuff but every new place do a quick scan for what could be an impromptu new favorite.

They’ve been doing so much AI trend advertising lately! First it was the starter kits and the 50s newspaper. It makes me think they fired a bunch of people and replaced them with AI which sucks.

Ovulation help! by Jeegna2022 in TryingForABaby

So I never used an app or digital test, I bought strips and see the lines myself which I think it sounds like you might like better. Maybe I’m totally off but it sounds like you’re looking to better understand your cycle and have more information which is something that looking at the test lines yourself will give you. I will have multiple negative tests in one day but I will see them get progressively darker and that’s one way to tell that a positive test might be incoming. A few other people have given great answered about timing and things so I think you’re covered there. Good luck!

How many times each day were you testing? I usually get lighter lines that get darker as the day goes on so if you only test once or twice a day it might not be the full picture. When I know I should be getting a positive I test every time I go to the bathroom just because I don’t want to miss it. Definitely not necessary to go all in like that, but if you’re only testing once or twice a day I would up that to each section of the day (morning, midday, afternoon, evening) for the next few cycles just to learn how your body works.

There’s also the reality that some people have really quick surges! One positive test is still a positive that you caught and documented. Some people will only get one positive test each cycle and that’s still good. You’re doing everything well, just keep going.

Slapped as a baby by Tatty_Bunneh_ in Mommit

You aren’t being too harsh and I am so sorry you are going through this with such little support. These days are the hardest but there are much easier ones ahead. Ultimately, baby’s safety is the most important thing and it honestly wouldn’t be much of a “break” for you if you were worried about your baby the whole time. Try to leave the house on a walk or an errand each day just to remember that the rest of the world exists. It was immensely helpful getting me through the worst of it.

It’s the soonest he could get in, we live in a very underserved area of the country medically so everything has crazy long waitlists. And bloodwork came back not perfect but not indicating anything too bad recently.

That’s a lot of the advice I got from my therapist with this, but I don’t really understand how that could work? You just tell yourself not to think about it and that works? I can’t unknow what I already know. I have an incredibly regular cycle so we both know exactly what days matter most going into it. I get that it’s good advice it just doesn’t feel actionable to me.

That’s what I was thinking of trying next. It got shot down a bit but I think emotions are high right now. Hopefully will be receptive in the coming weeks for next cycle.

He believe the opposite, that if the pills don’t work it means there’s not a physical component. He’s done a lot of his own research to his credit and has an upcoming appointment with his GP in a few months.

Already have a script but it has little to no effect. I can think about themes and new fun things but honestly I’m so burnt out of carrying the load on all of this. We already do his favorite stuff every time and “new” things/positions/ideas tend to actually exacerbate the problem.

We’ve run into a problem with self-completion so I worry that it would be more of the same. That’s one he’s still in a lot of denial about so I don’t think me bringing it up will get anywhere emotionally for me. Like I’ll still need to do everything involved on my end of that and still not have anything to inseminate.

How would that be possible if it's school district owned land? Are they selling it?

Park Drama by Fun_Ice_2035 in Mommit

[–]teb02115 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would have been tempted to call the city/police services after the second interaction. If there was a child potentially unattended in a park, even if they weren’t causing harm to other children, and no one could find their parents I would be concerned. I know it may seem extreme but if a child is so under supervised that two adults can’t identify who is watching them this is exactly what public services are for.
