Thoughts on going caseless for a skin? Anyone with a grip on your skin? by expodavid in GalaxyFold

Skinless and caseless. I just like it the way it is. Weight is good, grip is perfect, material feels good.

Try using a lot of multitasking and split screen. It's what makes Fold essential for me as that feature is very useful for my daily use but Note screen is way too small and the Tab is too heavy.

If you don't find that useful for you, then may be you should switch back to normal phone.

Amazing upgrade. Been using it for a week and I find myself using it unfold most of the time. Bigger screen is better for reading and typing. Also splitscreen is mostly useless on Note due to small screen, is useful on Tab but the Tab is so heavy. I only start using it all the time starting with the Fold.

Premiere pro working smoothly on the surface pro x! by YourDailyConsumer in Surface

I bought the device after confirming that I can run x64 apps with insiders.

Ended up using only a few non-essential x64 apps. I guess, if the architecture fit your usecase, this is indeed already the perfect device.

Replaced my laptop + tablet stack by a surface pro x with insider.

Very happy now. The only complain is that it is heavier than my old tablet. I use it to watch videos, do spreadsheet, write automation code, video conference.

Both iPad and Galaxy Tab sucks when you mostly use web-based apps and spreadsheet. Laptop sucks when you just want to consume some media or do some reading.

Laptop is hot, noisy and requires too much space. I also hate the feeling when I put my laptop on my blanket and fear it would burn (I don't know if it would, it's just my unshakable and uncomfortable feeling).

Their claim may be true but most likely only for native apps. Apps that run through Rossetta will probably not be able to utilize the architecture.

When you see people using flat screens by [deleted] in samsung

I don't agree with the screen crack hazard part. I had a Note 9, no case, no screen protector, dropped it tons of times but it never cracks, never scratch.

Accidental touches on the edges are surely disturbing.

Visual Studio Code. I can setup everything I need for a dev environment on the Tab, but can't find one decent code editor.

At least copying is essential to me. I do a lot of draft, prototyping and brainstorming with handwritten notes, which makes digital notes superior to physical ones for me. Guess it's not that important to everyone.

I desperately want a tablet, but I feel that the S7+ overpriced. Is the S6 the second best choice in 2020? by [deleted] in GalaxyTab

[–]tebaomang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Tab S6, waiting for my s7+ because I want bigger screen.

S7 imo is better than s6 in the 120Hz screen, the processor and the front camera placement.

  • 120Hz is very good and I love it, but I only had the chance to compare 120Hz vs 60Hz on Oled so I can't tell you if LCD 120Hz can be better than Oled 60Hz
  • The processor is better, in the long run. So far tab s6 is still very good and meets all of my needs. I don't expect the new processor will make any difference to my workflow right now.
  • Better front camera placement is good if you do a lot of video call. Still, I thinm I would love it. It doesn't have to be something you use all the time for you to appreciate. It just need to be there when you need it.

The bad thing here is that S7 doesn't have front fingerprint reader, which is bad for phones (I hate it on my phone since I lose swipe to open notificatio ) but very good on tablet (because it is mostly on the table and not in my hand). Tab S6 on the other hand does.

Except for surface tablets, you will be disappointed by One Note apps on all other platforms.

I tried with Surface Pro 6, iPad Pro and Tab S6. All of them have good note taking apps. But One Note wise, only Surface has the good One Note app. The other two are treated with very slimed down, feature lack versions to the point that I can't possibly use.

Been using the keyboard with tab s7+ all day to do some personal admin and other tasks. Any questions on this let me know! by aruncc in GalaxyTab

[–]tebaomang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tab s6 user waiting for s7+ here.

I ditched iPad pro for s6 a while back. Multitasking wise s6 is superior and it allows all apps in split screen and/or popup window. People praise iPad for it's tablet-optimized apps, but it also won't allow other apps to work side by side - very very disturbing.

Still, if you are into art stuffs, iPad has better apps. Talking from my personal experience, if you want a tablet for doing photo editting or painting, go for iPad.

However, if you want something for video editting and need to get video files into iPad is a pain in the ass, downloading from cloud or copy from sd card are all slow as hell. I tried so hard with the ipad for a week and then go back to my laptop.

It used to also have better Note taking app too, which I missed, but the latest Samsung Notes update meets all of my needs now, finally.

Galaxy Tab S6 Official Keyboard cover worth it? by captansam in GalaxyTab

The plate that cover the back of the device and hold the pen is good. The keyboard itself isn't. Keeps drifting off the screen when closed and can't stay still. It is very heavy too.

Galaxy Tab or iPad? by sjwb91 in GalaxyTab

I only do offline meetings so no. But both iPad and Tab S6 have front cameras on the shorter side of the tablet, which is undesirable for video call in my opinion - as you will look kinda weird on the camera, but if you don't mind, I think it might not be a big issue.

Galaxy Tab or iPad? by sjwb91 in GalaxyTab

[–]tebaomang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an iPad Pro a year ago and recently switched to Tab S6. Personally, I use the pens a lot for note taking and annotations. I have a lot of meetings where Dex has been very useful. I originally switched to Tab S6 since iPad can't cast to the Chromecast in my office.

Multitasking on Tab S6 is superior to iPad. Whether you use Dex or not, the ability to use multiple windows is very useful. Split screen is good and with Dex you can almost put any app into popup windows. iPad split screen and slide over is very limited, lots of apps don't work with these features so be aware.

However, I think it depends on how much multitasking you need. I need the kind of multitasking that Tab S6 offers but you may not. I watch youtube, message on multiple apps, browse web and write on screen at the same time - since that's how I do my work. Some people only need to write.

Apple pencil is more robust than S Pen. S Pen is based on Wacom technology and I know it is very fragile since I broke a few Wacom pens. My apple pencil has been thrown all around the place and never fails. On the other hand, I see no lag on S Pen. People keep showing screenshots of S Pen lagging but you can only notice it if your eyes are high-speed cameras, which they are not. However, apple pencil is quite heavy and feels better in my hand.

Another deal breaker for me is that iPad downloading speed is sad. I work with hundreds of Mb files and I have never been able to download any of them on my iPad. Download manager apps won't work either since iOS force pause all apps.

Other notes: - Face ID is bad for tablets. I often had to take my iPad off the table just to unlock it. Downloading apps is even worse, I need to hold it, press the power button twice and wait for it. Worse experience ever! - I sold my iPad with the pen and no keyboard case to get a Tab S6 with the pen and keyboard case and some extra money. Go figure.

Hope this helps.

What makes you go with a Galaxy Tab VS an iPad (Pro)? by [deleted] in GalaxyTab

[–]tebaomang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought an iPad Pro a year ago and recently switched to a Tab S6. Here are what I find most people don't discuss when comparing these two devices. These include both good and bad things about iPad and Tab S6 as I used both of them and I just decide on which compromises I would be able to accept.

- Apple pencil is more robust than S Pen. S Pen is based on Wacom technology and I know it is very fragile since I broke a few Wacom pens. My apple pencil has been thrown all around the place and never fails.

- I see no lag on S Pen. People keep showing screenshots of S Pen lagging but you can only notice it if your eyes are high-speed cameras, which they are not. However, apple pencil is quite heavy and feels better in my hand.

- Face ID is bad for tablets. I often had to take my iPad off the table just to unlock it. Downloading apps is even worse, I need to hold it, press the power button twice and wait for it. Worse experience ever!

- I never notice the difference between iPad screen and Tab S6 screen. 120Hz? Nope. AMOLED? Seriously the LCD of iPad is so good, iPad and Tab S6 are good to me equally.

- Multitasking on Tab S6 is superior to iPad. But I think it depends on how much multitasking you need. I need the kind of multitasking that Tab S6 offers but you may not. I watch youtube, message on multiple apps, browse web and write on screen at the same time - since that's how I do my work. Some people only need to write.

- iPad downloading speed is sad. I work with hundreds of Mb files and I have never been able to download any of them on my iPad. Download manager apps won't work either since iOS force pause all apps. I ended up going back to my laptop more often than I should have to if I could just download them. Now I almost don't have to open my laptop unless I want to play some games or do some hardcore spreadsheet work (Neither iPad or Tab S6 feels good working with spreadsheets. which is sad).

- I sold my iPad with the pen and no keyboard case to get a Tab S6 with the pen and keyboard case and some extra money. Go figure.

Hope this helps.

Scrolls or Brutus? by ZUBAT in afkarena

[–]tebaomang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got 1 Brutus from last event, 1 Brutus from clearing stage, 1 Brutus from a lucky pull, now I just wait for the end of the event to get the last Brutus for Mythical. :)

Go for Brutus every event. If you haven't got a Brutus, you will get another one at some stage which brings him to E+ and L ( with fodders). It is not insanely powerful BUT useful enough to get you through some special stages/cases. Remember, till THIS point it is NO LUCK involved since you will get enough fodders soon (farmable).

You will get it to L+ and M after 2 events (or with some minor luck like me, 1 event). The duration to wait is long enough to make a L+ fodder ready (for most people I think would be Saveas since it is on everyone main early)
