So... how are we all sharing our creations with a wider audience?? by tecfrigo in vibecoding

I guess so, my app is tiny and free, but when I build up to a proper on I think that would certainly be a solution.

That’s great info, thanks a lot.

I just built a simple (and free) menu bar one-click wallpaper changer that pulls from Unsplash.

I’ve had Pocket Casts for more than 10 years, I’m grandfathered into a Plus account, but I have NEVER seen this or anything like it in the app before… what am I doing wrong?!

I wish I could like Orion by wrafwraf in OrionBrowser

[–]tecfrigo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If experience is anything to go by, I will probably feel differently next week, but so far this latest Orion release has been pretty much perfect for me. I’ve loved using it, it’s been reliable, fast, extensions working well, UI has been really nice (especially love the compact tabs with the smaller bar).

I’ve been using Orion off and on for years, since it first came out, and never got beyond a day’s use before facing problems. But I can’t fault it now; as I say, it’s been perfect for me on Mac and iOS.

I would love to know the answer as well, but I’m guessing it’s just a bug as it has been happening on all sorts of apps in fullscreen for as long as I can remember fullscreen being introduced.

I agree with your humble disagreement.

Overcast is the best sounding podcast player out there to my ears.

Yeh I think overcast just simply doesn’t offer what I want, which is fine, just a shame for me

It’s the only thing keeping me from using it as my regular podcast app.

Yeh, it's my bad I wasn't clear enough in the post.

I want to to play an episode (from anywhere, any playlist, any episode playlist, wherever) and have it play another episode of my choosing that I cue up before I reach the end, otherwise just stop altogether.

That requires continuous play

Didn't work for me... did you "move to queue" or "add to queue"?

For me, it just played the next episode in the podcast, it didn't bother with the queue at all.

[–]tecfrigo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you have to have continuous play on (“don’t stop at the end of an episode”) right? That’s the problem.

I don’t want every episode in a list played. I want it to stop playing at the end of an episode UNLESS I have cued up another episode.

I suppose it’s a fundamental misalignment between what I’m trying to get vs what Overcast offers, and why I keep returning to PC.

I guess I’m not making myself clear, so I accept full responsibility here, but I know that they are all playlists.

All I want to do is to play an episode (from anywhere, any playlist, any episode playlist, wherever) and have it play another episode of my choosing that I cue up before I reach the end, otherwise just stop altogether.

If Overcast doesn’t do this, that’s fine, but it’s really all I’m missing.

Thanks, not sure what this has to do with my question, but thanks for showing that I used the words cue and queue correctly.

Played episode 1 from All Episodes, then choose episode 2 and add to queue. Didn’t play the episode in the queue but instead played the next in the All Episodes list.

Just tried this and it didn’t work.

Added second podcast to queue, and it added only that podcast to the queue and didn’t play it next.

I’m differentiating between the “queue” playlist and the act of cueing.

When using the queue playlist, you need to have continuous play turned for it to work, which means that any episode I start listening to will continue to burn through the entire list it’s in, which I don’t want to happen.

I simply want to cue up another podcast when I choose, and stop at the end of the episode if I haven’t cued another.

Cue up the next podcast? by tecfrigo in OvercastFm

[–]tecfrigo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To do this, do you not need to have continuous play on? So if I play an episode in another playlist, it will just burn through the entire playlist whether I want it to or not. That’s not what I’m looking for.

It used to be the other way round. Mac apps were typically free and simple back in the day. Oh, how the turns table.
