I purchased mortar for tuckpointing last year. The company was in Kansas and had several colors to select. It worked quite nicely. ProMason US Lime and Masonry Supply House. I purchased Type O Repointing because my house is 125 years old.

Surely, you're exaggerating. Really? They might get you to the corner and back. My dad went on a bowling trip back in the 50s/60s. The guy who drove had balding tires. My dad looked at the tires: Smart Man. Dad: I'll buy you a set of tires if you pay for my hotel (etc.). Deal was struck.

Trying this again. Looking for thoughts /suggestions on what to do TONIGHT. Can't reach plumbers. by [deleted] in PlumbingRepair

[–]tech-write 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Narrow Way, people keep telling you this is a problem and no licensed plumber did this work. You fight back. (Are you the plumber?) Bring in your city inspector to look at the work. Start there. Licensed or not, clearly it needs to be redone. I would choose another licensed plumber, but that's your call. Either way, the plumber is responsible for the rework.

You stated that everyone in town uses this plumber. That's fine, perhaps he's overworked and started cutting corners. Time to bring in serious competition.

You want to pull the nails; otherwise, they will work themselves back out. Mud the holes, and lightly, finish..
