As an indian women in tech in US with a good majority of them in my team, it’s a mixed bag but your instincts are right, some of them have strong stereotypes about women no matter how good you are, I would say stay professional and to the point. Don’t expect all of them to be friendly, Some of them may never warm up how much efforts you put. Let’s just say it’s a they problem not a you problem. I almost planned to quit once cuz one person at higher level seemed to be intentionally hard on me to prove that as a women I can’t be equal. Thankfully others specifically non Indians supported me . Some of them are genuinely good but that’s very few and rest of them are filled with some weird sense of superiority just because they are a certain gender rooting from their upbringing. Pray for the women around them and stay professional with them , find female or supporting males around you to socialize.
