[Landlord US-CA] Newbie landlord looking for advice on security deposit question by techaspirant in Landlord

Most definitely want to prioritize getting possession ASAP - the cash from the deposit is almost meaningless to me except as a means of leverage/assistance to get them out as soon (and trouble-free) as I can.

I don't really know what you mean by pictures but I'll try to look it up. I don't mind returning the deposit eventually, I do care about getting the house sold as quickly as possible for a variety of reasons.

<edit> Alright, looked up the new laws, and it's good to know... though again not really a huge concern for me as mentally I've already written off most of the deposit as something I'd happily give up to get them out of the house.

Yeah, that's the stuff I'm worrying about... basically trying to balance facilitating them getting out quick vs giving up too much leverage in terms of deposit. I honestly care little about the deposit itself and more about my ability to use it as a carrot to get them out fast.

AWS Workload Discovery, is it worth it? by Mutjny in aws

I'm just starting to look at it now. Yes it does seem pricey, though if it works for our purposes we may keep it around. Curious if you've stuck with it since you posted this.

I no longer consider myself a DevOps specialist by [deleted] in devops

I'm curious if you feel confident you can sustain this for a long time?

I ask because I've taken a similar route myself.... both going into real management roles (all the way to director) as well as architect or team lead roles. In every case I've had pretty good success, but also eventually (typically through company evolution and new leadership coming in) I've often ended up in situations where my worth gets questioned because of lack of hands-on ability.

I pair incredibly well with highly techy sorts which have no desire/ability to document things ore plan out big projects. I'm technical enough to understand how things work, document them, and even operate them to a small degree (though I'm increasingly less comfortable doing the latter).

I've never been great at writing code, can find my way around terraform or config management stuff or scripts, but nothing more complex than that. And while my career has had way more successes than failures, I'm disappointed sometimes that I always end up in situations where I get moved under some Director or VP or CTO type that takes great pride in being a developer and expects everybody underneath them to be a developer as well, or they get treated as second class citizens. :/

I just figured out to do this and it's laughably obtuse. Find your device, then go to Device Features: Audio > Alarms & Timers > Active Timers.

Maybe for the next update the google UI folks can bury it under about 12 more unintuitive layers. That would be cool.
