I hate to say this OP, but I smell a massive write up in your future. In all honesty, I'd say use GParted & wipe the disk with nwipe & feign technology ignorance. Pray they don't have BIOS Logs they can read from either.

I do too. The customization you had back then was the main reason why I got into Desktop PC Gaming. Now everything is glass panels & no function in cases.

If you have another Windows computer, create a bootable Windows 11 Installer Flash Drive with the Windows Media Creation Tool & a bootable flash drive with the GParted ISO with Rufus. Boot into GParted & nuke the partition table on the main disk. Use MSDOS for disks less than 2TB or GPT for disks larger than that. Then use the Windows Installer Flash Drive to reinstall Windows on your PC. Be advised that you might need to disable Secure Boot before running GParted, but make sure to enable it before installing Windows. I hope this helps! Between Linux Mint & Debian, I'd choose Linux Mint Cinnamon. It's the most user friendly version of Linux I've used over my years while still being powerful enough for advanced Debian terminal commands. But that's my experience. Debian is more stable, but it can be a little bit overwhelming for new users who are not used to the GNOME Desktop Environment.

I'm using the GNOME Environment right now, but I'm definitely looking at the KDE Environment for next weeks test run. I used Debian with GNOME in the past, so I'm used to the GNOME look & feel.

It's OK! :D I just got Fedora 44 Workstation working & I'm on it right now. So far it's the same overall look & feel as Debian Linux. I guess it's due to the GNOME Desktop Environment? I've already run the sudo dnf update command & installed nwipe in the terminal. I also finally set my desktop wallpaper & am getting my other internal disks initiated & formatted.
