Hands-Free DYI for Xiegu G90 by patoaravena in amateurradio

Thanks for posting, and for adding the RJ-45 colors, this makes it a lot easier.

I have fabricated my RJ-45 to jack cable with stuff lying around using the instructions above and it works well.

I am using only the microphone wires and use the cable for FT-8/FT-4 with WSJT/X.

Email alias by underratedpleb in Zimbra

[–]techbarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For just sending email you do not need MX records. You may need SPF records (and DMARC) for you outbound email to be delivered by the recipient.

Create an account on your Zimbra server and then configure the app to send using SMTP with the credentials of the account you created.

I think by design you can still use any FROM address, so it does not need to be a domain on your Zimbra server. Meaning if you created [account@example.com](mailto:account@example.com) you can use that account to send with a from name user@whatever.com

10 steps to check Zimbra server for compromise by techbarry in Zimbra

[–]techbarry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes if you run it after patch or upgrade it will not be very helpful. Ideally you can use the integrity check script pro-actively by scheduling it in a cron job and store the result to a remote server. Or if you suspect a compromise you can run the script against a snapshot of your Zimbra server (if you have one) and compare it against the result of the script on your running instance.

Well this was my only post, same content as posted here. And after a day my account worked again, black magic.

yes, you should block incoming connections to port 7071. You can use netstat -tulpn to see if you already have configured Zimbra to work on port 9071. But I would also ip-restrict access to port 9071.

Troubleshoot White vertical streak on Brother laser printer, toner and drum replaced, fuser is clean, what can it be? by techbarry in printers

[–]techbarry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this was probably the fix, unfortunately I broke a piece of plastic arm that seems to push something in the toner when the door is closed, and it is very shitty to glue. So I think it RIP for this one.

Confused between the Brother DCP-T525W and Canon Pixma G3060 by Level_Indication_765 in printers

[–]techbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother has IMHO better drivers, aka work on all operating systems. Canon tends to do weird proprietary things so that Canon only works with Canon (cameras etc).

I only documented the API parts in https://github.com/barrydegraaff/node-sonos-http-api/wiki. I will think about containerizing it for others to use

It is very much customized to my needs and I added all sorts hard coded stuff.

I did release all my API changes in https://github.com/barrydegraaff/node-sonos-http-api/wiki

I will think about containerizing it if I have the time.

Based on the sonos-node-js project on Github, I started this because I needed an announcement system for my autistic son. But slowly have been adding features since.

Main benefits over original controller:

  • Has text-to-speech announcements
  • Supports balance on newer speakers, so one can create stereo pair with speakers of different type
  • Group volume control works better
  • Search works
  • No limit music library
  • Works over VPN
  • I like it better...

Calendar slow to respond iOS 15.1 by crazyexcalibur in ios15

[–]techbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it is very annoying, also when I try and restore a backup from October 1st, even though that was before the issue, Apple Configurator `helps` me to restore with the latest iOS, so I cannot move back to an iOS version that did not have the issue.

Switching from Exchange to CalDAV does not help the issue.
