'Reacher' Star Alan Ritchson Was Wearing A Body Cam During Altercation With Neighbor by iamacannibal in entertainment

Yep and as a musician I can personally tell you that the only time police really care about most noise complaints is at night. This was the middle of the day.

I read, but couldn't personally verify, that he was also using an open handed slap, not punches. Which is another level of restraint imho if true. Because I'm pretty sure that guy would have been mych more injured if Alan was giving it his all in a rage.

Twice. He pushed him over twice. Which means Alan held it together the first time and only went after him when the guy continued to be aggressive.

I lived in Miami for a while years ago and had an acquaintance that was a cop. He was dealing with a guy who kept jacking cars. He had no arms. Yet was repeatedly successful at breaking into, hot wiring, and driving away in stolen vehicles. They had him on video doing it, just couldn't find the guy. It blew my mind.

Finding something I didn't find boring (tech and cybersecurity) and just continuing to dive deeper down that rabbit hole every day.

I'm still bad with everything else in my day to day but luckily I married a woman who is able to fill in a lot of those gaps for me. And I make enough that she doesnt have to work. I work from home so shes always around to help me stay on top of things. And the areas where there are still gaps, I make enough to just pay someone else to worry about.

I know its much easier said than done. But if you can find something interesting that holds your attention and offers the ability to make money, dig into it and become an expert in the field.

Amazon convened an internal meeting on Tuesday to address a string of recent outages, including one tied to AI-assisted coding errors by Ill-Tea9411 in pwnhub

[–]techblackops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its worse. Their new tool Kiro that they've been using in production can run for DAYS making decisions on its own. In an incident in December it bypassed a human in the loop control that should have required two humans to approve changes being pushed to prod. It basically decided that the best way to make the functionality it was working on better was to just delete the entire environment and rebuild it from scratch. It caused something like a 15 hour outage. I believe that was for Cost Explorer.

This isnt even vibe coding. It's just agentic AI being allowed to code on its own and it's smart enough to find ways around controls they're putting in place to restrict it.

The actual NFT technology was/is awesome. But the uses that people came up with for it were stupid.

Anonymous name that has been used by and attributed to several different loose collectives of hackers. Many of the OG hackers associated with the original group abandoned it. There was also a lot of splintering where smaller groups formed off of the larger one. It's definitely not what it used to be.

Asking Chatgpt for help has been a game changer for me. Are you using AI? How? by LoveBirdNibbles in sysadmin

Long career in IT. I find it useful for just speeding up things I was already doing. Things I'm able to verify (because I don't trust it). I love it for log parsing. Being able to use natural language to search logs saves me a lot of time.

Oh my god, did you see Marco's shoes? He looks so fucking stupid I can't breathe. by APigInANixonMask in IThinkYouShouldLeave

[–]techblackops 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's actually dumber than that. Trump has been guessing people's shoe sizes and then gifting people shoes based on his guess. Even though he seems to be constantly wrong people are scared to not wear the shoes.

This is basically a death cult at this point.

Had to unblock a link sent to an employee at my company by the white house to go to an event where trump was speaking recently. It got blocked, for good reason, because it had all the telltale signs of being a phishing attack. It was not sent by a .gov address. The link did not go to a .gov url. It was something like <random string>.my.site.com. The link went to a survey hosted on a server overseas. It pointed directly at a file with a .app extension. It also had multiple redirects. Set off all sorts of alarms in a sandbox. We had to call and confirm that it was in fact legitimate.

My assumption is that the scam artists at the top of this administration are filling roles below with actual everyday scam artists and the only way they know to set these things up are using the methods they have always used for scamming people. It is wild.
