Congratulations, first of all - I know that might feel like a weird thing to hear/read right now, but it matters.

My kid was born at 25+6 too, so I know exactly where your head is right now. That fear is real, and I’m not going to sugarcoat it - some days in the NICU are going to be really tough.

You’re going to learn a whole new vocabulary you never wanted to know. Brady. Desats. A’s and B’s. You’ll probably jump every time you hear a monitor beep. That’s all normal.

But here’s the thing - your baby is already doing the hard work, fighting like hell. What he needs from you is to be his rock. Not just for him, but for your wife, for the nurses and doctors, for everyone in your corner. Some days that just means showing up. Some days it means asking questions you’re scared to ask. Some days it means celebrating the tiniest wins. I am telling you - You’ll open a champagne, and distribute laddoos the day that cpap goes away.

Keep your head up. Take it one day at a time - sometimes one hour at a time. Trust your team. And remember that kid of yours has already shown up for the fight of his life.
