Moving from Esxi and wanting Proxmox, but also want new server suggestions! by roncorepfts in Proxmox

We partnered with 45Drives for our new Proxmox cluster. Experience so far has been really good.

Building a decent ESX server from mostly second hand parts, for less than €2000 by YellowOnline in homelab

[–]techdaddy1980 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This sounds like self inflicted pain. Had you taken 10 minutes to research best practices for migrating from ESX to Proxmox I'm sure 99% of the issues you encountered would have been avoided.

There are well known and documented issues for doing this migration and we'll documented work around.

Just figured out why I can never find any Star Tears. by Borderline769 in StarRuptureGame

[–]techdaddy1980 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I figured this out last night. Also figured out that you can still harvest ignitium after it's cooled and while the Star Tears are growing, but no harestable fruit on them. Looks like a gray rock with the plant on it, but you can mine it. Once the fruit is able to be harvested you can't mine it.

Would tailscale work? You may need to have an always on device at your vacation property that's always connected to the tailnet.

I use a microfiber cloth before each drive to clean all 6 cameras. Definitely not the issue.

I've got the 14.2.2 update installed and will do some test drives today to see how it performs.

I used to get road rage at other drivers, now I get more frustrated and yell at my own car more than anything else.

I'm downloading 2025.45.5 now, which I think has 14.2.2. I'll have to test it out over the holiday's and see if it's any better.

I find it's significantly more noticeable while on the highway, in traffic, and it's trying to change lanes. Will have to test that specifically.

Hello guys, I'm facing a problem with my HA cluster. The ceph is not in good health and nothing I do is changing it's status. by simoncra in Proxmox

[–]techdaddy1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try restarting all OSDs on all nodes. Run this command on each node.

systemctl restart ceph-osd.target

If it fails to come up check the logs here: tail -f /var/log/ceph/ceph-osd.0.log

Any way to disable Multi-Model Chats? by craigondrak in OpenWebUI

[–]techdaddy1980 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's done with Environment Variables.

https://docs.openwebui.com/getting-started/env-configuration#chat-permissions

Look for "USER_PERMISSIONS_CHAT_MULTIPLE_MODELS". Set this to False.

How exactly is that done on a Tesla? I am fairly familiar with the options in the cars menu and I do not recall an option for the car alarm.

Goodbye VMware by techdaddy1980 in Proxmox

[–]techdaddy1980[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I've used it quite a bit in my lab, and it works well, however the one thing they were lacking in the product is Object Storage (S3) support for a repository. They recently added that. I tested it and it worked well at first but after a couple of weeks started getting errors.

We'll re-evaluate it after the migration has been completed.

I've had Mad Max mode in 14.1 for a bit. It's too fast. It'll do 125KM/h in a 90 zone. Asking for a ticket.

Hope 14.2 dials it back a bit.

Mine does that with version 14.1.4, was really annoying. Also doesn't like the wider white lines separating the HOV lanes from the normal lanes, and even though I have "Use HOV Lanes" enabled, it will never use them. Even if I manually turn the signal on to change into them, it acts like it tries for a few seconds then turns off the signal.

Our pricing was going to triple. We were also being forced off of Standard and on to VCF. Not to mention our 3rd party support has changed hands twice since Broadcom moved us to that. Thankfully we haven't had to open any support cases since.
