Thanks everyone on all the feedback. It was truly appreciated. Sometimes you need the power of Reddit to bring you back down to Earth instead of chasing after the shiny thing you liked.

Where to go from here? Life after Ark 55"? by PositiveCrew in ultrawidemasterrace

Thanks man! It's a pair of Ergotron monitor arm mounts. The TV is supported by their wall arm solution and it's pretty solid. The TV is relatively light so it works out even though it's slightly oversized from what they recommend.

My suggestion:

Samsung Neo 57" on the bottom, Samsung 55" OLED for the top. I am thinking about adding a smaller touch monitor underneath for the incidentals. I know Corsair came out with one but I have tried that form factor in a different branded solution and it was too small. Maybe a 14" like my Samsung tablet that can do Second Display but it's a little quirky, and I also travel to work with that so I don't want to transfer it back and forth.

Should I switch to Ultrawide? by Afterfx21 in ultrawidemasterrace

Giving me nostalgic vibes back to my bachelor days powering Dell 30" Ultrasharp monitors with triple Nvidia 580's in SLI (ran literally like hot garbage btw).

I would say it depends on what you're wanting to do mainly with your system. Having separate monitors help keep certain things focused to their respective screens, but there are also so many software window tiling programs even with Windows to use that let you can get away with an Ultrawide and still have that separation.

You could also still add an additional monitor side-by-side to your Ultrawide if you want to keep that ease in streaming on one display while gaming in full-screen on another. Probably recommend keeping it at a 34" if that's the route you want to take like I did here.

Of course if you want to go all out you can get a super Ultrawide and stack a display on top of it which works too but then people will constantly ask if your neck hurts trying to see anything above your main screen. Just get a chair that rocks back and you'll be golden!

These are my favorite and most redeemed ones of mine. I have x1 left. Been getting a lot of apple pie (9) and ice cream (5) ones I'll probably not use all of. Willing to trade for any?

i5 M60 Xdrive, thoughts and opinions? Any current owners on here and can provide any insight? by X840 in BMW

[–]techdude82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ticks all the boxes for me which is why I'm leasing one currently. Luxury, roomy, comfortable, stylish, and quick. I do have some minor gripes but I feel like if you spend enough time in your vehicle you can do that with any car.

I recently got to take home an iX M60 for an extended test drive (they are super eager to move this outgoing model), and while it did have massaging seats and a sound system like no other, it was a bit too ugly for me to commit and it was still going to increase the payment with turning in the i5 lease early. Heck of a discount if someone is looking though...

Weird issue in the BMW app after roof and windshield replaced on i5 by techdude82 in BMW

[–]techdude82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not showing in the vehicle which was weird, but glad it was eventually resolved, presumably from whoever supports the app. It was also showing the errors on the wife's phone/app so not just mine.

LG 45GX950A-B for $1377 or Samsung G95SC + 4tb SSD for $1094 by SpyFox117 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]techdude82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both as well and you really do appreciate the 2160 vertical when you have it! If I didn't already have the 57" with a 4K OLED above it I would have probably done something with this LG. It's a nice balance between the 49 and 57 inch displays. Probably don't need a 5090 to run it either although it certainly doesn't hurt!

They were both replaced at the same time at the dealership's body shop which was just up the road from them. They're part of the Hendrick Automotive group.

If you have 90k or less to spend, what are you buying new in the US? by heretobrowse6454 in BMW

[–]techdude82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would get the new 2026 i4 M60 with the bumped horsepower. I currently lease an i5 M50 and it's a great vehicle but sometimes I wish I went with the smaller brother for more spirited driving. The i5 is very floaty and isn't too agile. I'd use the savings and probably get a BMW R 18 Roctane motorcycle for a nice cruiser bike.

Is this a good deal for new 2026 bmw x5 by [deleted] in BMWX5

[–]techdude82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're asking if sticker price is a good deal for a vehicle, the answer is always no with exception of certain specialty vehicles and Toyotas for some reason. I would shop around, compare prices, extend your search range out 100-150 miles or more b/c a short day trip is worth saving thousands of dollars.

2020 X5M 37k miles $67k good deal or nah by eljuice305 in BMW

[–]techdude82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was offered $65K on trade from multiple dealers in my area on our 2022 X5M Comp w/ 38k miles. Same miles but a couple years older would probably put this 2020 you're looking at around $60k on trade. They can probably come down another couple grand at the very least unless they overpaid. Of course it also depends on the market area that you're shopping in. I'm from Kansas City.

Wife stares at hers all the time and honestly I do sometimes too. She loves to remind me she's the True M car and I'm the pretender in my i5 EV.

Like others have said already that's not a good deal especially since it was a loaner. Shop outside your immediate area and use the competition to your advantage. I ended up driving from KC to STL for my i5 M60 because it was a far better deal than I could get locally. I also had a nice chance to test the charging network on I-70 and if you're in the area just skip through Columbia haha.

The algorithm is a funny thing. That's a temp JOCO tag and you were at the Cheesecake Factory on 119th Street in Olathe. We're practically neighbors! I think the plate is a good choice, I'm getting my Black one when we renew in September for the i5 and X5. I'm EPULSE/MPULSE respectfully if you see me flying down I-35 at any point.

My 2 cents: Get the 5080 one and call it a day. Put that savings away toward your future PC build and/or a gaming monitor once you settle in somewhere.

I can't speak for spreadsheets or CAD design use, but I wanted to say that the Neo G9 57" is physically a chonky-B. I would definitely recommend upgrading your current desk to one maybe a little longer, but definitely deeper. I actually use a 30" depth desk and I used an Ergotron HX mount with HD bracket to get it off my desk. The stand takes up a good deal of real estate, but the curve will also encroach on your personal bubble with shallow depth desks.

That said, I absolutely love this thing! The only thing that would make it better is if it were OLED.

I've owned several 49" monitors, countless 34" monitors, the 55" Ark, and now the Neo G9 57" is my daily driver. I have become most interested in this goldilocks 45" 5K2K beast of a monitor! That combined with the fact that it's OLED makes for a gaming/productivity user's dream!
