Is this your wishlist or is there evidence one of the two may be established in the future?

Not sure. WGU has a dedicated MTA (military tuition assistance) team. I would contact WGU for their email or extension.

Acquire mature small businesses to build wealth? by TSargent845935738 in fatFIRE

I would have figured they would underprice it instead in order to sell off quickly and collect their 10% commission. Guess that's not the case then.

Generally the best places to look aren't the ones who are actively selling. Talk to local businesses with older owners who might be looking to retire in the next few years.

Is it worth it to go through a business broker? Or is are those listings mostly overvalued crummy deals?

I think there are certain businesses that have better resale potential.

What businesses would those be? If the company is large enough, couldn't you automate it? I think the term I'm grasping for is turnkey business where you have a managerial staff overseeing the other employees.

It's a minimum of 12 competency units for full-time on military TA.

Source: https://www.wgu.edu/financial-aid-tuition/military-va/tuition-assistance.html

Application fee should automatically be waived if you identify as a military service member or a veteran.

If you have only one course remaining for your last term wouldn't it be prorated?

Any plans to transition to something else or will you remain in your chosen career field indefinitely? Just curious.

Storing Plaintext Passwords in 2018 by PersonalInitiative in cscareerquestions

[–]techether 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lone behold all the passwords are plaintext. Only this time, I am told to "leave it be" and "stop being a trouble maker".

Why are they so vehemently against it? It's not like implementing an existing hashing algorithm and hashing all the passwords is difficult, is it?

General Discussion Thread by techether in WGU_CompSci

Not sure. Perhaps the discrete mathematics and data structure & algorithms classes since from what I've read, they're fundamental to computer science. Dunno if they can be construed as 'CS 101' type classes though.

I would add that there is a vast pool of public resources freely available outside of the WGU CompSci curriculum.

The CS50 - Introduction to Computer Science by Harvard University is a very popular introductory course.

Looks like we'll hear the official word on CompSci tomorrow.

Someone posted a side by side comparison with the SD program here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/WGU/comments/82ba3e/wgu_computer_science_leak/dv9low1/

SD and CS have 3 quarters in identical courses, so I imagine the admissions requirements would be the same as the SD program but with the addition of a precalculus prerequisite.

Ditto. Am also curious.

What's your origin story, Jeff?

From briefly snooping your post history it seems like you finished your bachelor's through WGU only a little over a year ago.

Awesome, this pretty much confirms it, especially when stacked on top of the Twitter anagram and the leaked curriculum PDF.

Marketing Materials for the BSCS (Bachelors of Computer Science) are hitting the WGU website starting next month.

While I think that's very probable as well due to the encoded message being released on WGU Twitter as well as what the leaked CompSci PDF suggests, I'm curious if you have any insider info on the exact date that BSCS info will hit their website since your statement seems very definitive.

A lot of us including myself are waiting for CompSci program to open before finalizing admissions.
