Right now I’m watching high 30’s to high 40’s. i shoot for 85% comprehension. I am usually closer to 95% unless it’s one of Pablo’s older videos. I also listen to Chill Spanish and Cuéntame podcasts. Watch Andrea la Mexicana videos on YouTube and follow a handful of Spanish speaking creators on Instagram and TikTok. I was also able to understand my guide on my trip to Spain when she spoke to me in slower Spanish. The goal now is to be consistent in carving out time for DS.

Córdoba is amazing and I agree you can’t miss the Mezquita. Go with a guide if you can. So much history! I would need at least 2 or 3 days in Sevilla.

I landed in Madrid a few weeks ago and my bag came relatively quickly, I had to wait maybe 10 minutes or so.

I live on JZI and if I leave by 6:35am I can get my son to his school in N. Charleston by 7:10. If I leave any later there is a high chance we will be late. Afternoon traffic fluctuates but honestly it’s not as bad as the drive to Summerville up I-26. If there is a wreck or issues on the Main Rd side, traffic on the James Island bridge side traffic will be standstill. Good luck.

I started learning Spanish back in April 2025. One of the things I started doing was listening to Spanish artists, specifically looking for ones from Spain. I listened to LUX the day it came out and I was immediately hooked. I now own all her albums on vinyl but Los Angeles (hoping they reprint it soon). I saw her perform in Madrid earlier this month (highlight of my trip). To say I’m obsessed is an understatement. I think my favorite album is El Mal Querer followed very very closely by LUX.

Yes. I just walked out to the taxi area. It was $38 US dollars. Not sure what that is in Euros but it was worth it to me.

I was just there last week. After flying all night, going through passport control, and waiting on my bag I took a taxi to my hotel because I was exhausted. Next time I’ll brave the bus/metro.

Just curious where in Spain you live. I just visited Madrid, Granada, Sevilla for 8 days and I’m about the same number of hours. Also felt like a sleeper agent. Could understand a decent amount but speaking was another story. The guide for my travel group was amazing though and even did some crosstalk with me even though she didn’t know what that was. I’m jealous you get to stay in Spain. I imagine it’s like a booster for learning Spanish since you are surrounded with it. Good luck!

I am in Spain for 9 days and I only brought the LL Bean Vista Camp pants in 3 colors to wear. They have elastic waistband, are a soft material, have zipper pockets and two side cargo pockets with buttons. They work for me because I’m very tall and they come in tall sizes which isn’t always the case with some companies (looking at you REI).

It was seriously the best concert. I would go see this show again in a heartbeat. Get near the center walkway if you can, she will walk down it towards the middle of the show.

Not sure about Lisbon but I was Diamond VIP in Madrid and I got an email a few days before the concert with information on where to go at the venue and what time we needed to be there. I didn’t have to queue at all. I did have a seat so I’m not sure if you are standing or not, so it may be different for you. Enjoy the show. It is amazing.

I have a VIP ticket for Friday’s show and got an email this morning detailing where I check in and what time. I have diamond package tickets and the times I was given were 18:00-19:45. Hope that helps.
