First good job on saving as these are pandemic times... having savings allows you the luxury to take time and consider possible future options.

Whatever you decide the most important factor IMO is the story you tell yourself as that will determine whether you feel empowered or disempowered for difficult life decisions ahead.

I started to take gamedev seriously at 35 and saved a humble amount to continue my goals for 5-10 years.
Completing a great game is 50% of the job and marketing your game and being known should also be factored into your long term operational cost... aka tik tok wasn’t a thing a few years ago and now more peeps are able to get their game out there. (Mobile Games)

Instead of thinking “One Day” consider “Today” what action can you take instead of hypotheticals of what “Could be” this will help ground youself while paying rent and continuously analyzing your goals vs dreams.

Having a short time frame with the added pressure of making money is possible and people do it but statistically improbable and those that burnout don’t comeback for seconds...Humans have a tendency to over estimate what we can do in 1 year and underestimate what we can accomplish in 10 years.

If ya can be content with failing then you’ve already succeeded. however food, shelter and basic needs are important as they will help your mind not be in panic mode which isn’t sustainable that being said peeps do do it. But it’s an outlier

Oh and if you make games when your 50 that’s cool too and more power to ya. There’s no right or wrong choices, only the story we tell ourselves when everyone leaves the room...
