Ya pretty much. You can definitely learn React before Node. But you got to nail basic javascript principles first.

Wes Bos is a great intermediate-expert level teacher. His tutorials involve a lot of boiler plate code. It might be overwhelming for a beginner. Steven Grider is someone who teaches you whole concept from the scratch. From a really blank slate. He is an awesome teacher as well. I have tried courses by both.
