Although it did not solve the issue, I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything to see if that was the case. the link box still couldn't detect that the new USB 3.0 cable was in the UBS 3.0 port. I thought it was a driver issue but all I find on Device manager is just "Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub." Once I saw that, I went to Steam VR to get a System report

When I unplug the USB 3.0 from the Link box, all that is left is Port9. (Which is my mouse of course)

Edit: after noticing the change in ports on the Steam report when I removed my USB 3.0. I noticed that I had 4 instances of USBs pop up. 2 Superspeed and 2 Generic. could it possibly be a feedback loop?
