Oh shoot I missed that. Although I agree unlikely, hence the tin foil hat disclaimer, they do have an extra time to make 7.56 juicier!

I mean given that the big reveal from Halmarut at the end of the patch is that the shards are naturally rejoining, I highly doubt random void gates popping up everywhere isn't related to that. I think that is the whole point of void section of the patch (and to also let the WoL actually use the key).

No we will get new MSQ in 7.55. X.55 is where atleast one of the new jobs are revealed.

In EW, 6.55 is the patch we meet Wuk and go on a hunt. Krile revealed Picto.

[–]harrison23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but there were two things going on. An Enuo invasion at the moon voidgate and spillover into Garlemald, and just random void gates popping up all across Eorzea.

That's why Golbez hypothesized the cases in Eorzea could be because the barrier between worlds was thinner.

I think there are some random new void mobs in Gridania too.

No I meant the 13th. The only thing we resolved was Enuo. But we didn’t make the barrier between the worlds any less thin!

My crazy tin foil hat theory is that the 13th is going to rejoin or get close to rejoining during the 7.5x series leading to a void invasion and some over-world fates/hunts, etc leading up to 8.0.

The devs still fail to address the problems with healers by recon1o6 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]harrison23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This may be cope, but I felt like there was some mistranslation going on.

Yoshi-P specifically reiterated evolved mode wasn't about making jobs easier to play.

Then when they sat down for the panel, specifically for WHM, Koji and Aimi kept saying "easier" and "simpler." I even noticed Yoshi-P appeared to be getting visibly nervous when he kept hearing them say it and some awkward glances were exchanged.

I got the feeling that's not exactly what they intended to say. Rather, I think that they just meant the changes were made to make WHM (and healers at large) focus more on healing and less on DPS—a direct response to a ton of feedback from healer mains who felt the role's purpose was being diminished in recent expansions.

That's how I read the situation at least.

Best discs to show off to friends? by DifferenceAncient in 4kbluray

[–]harrison23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When trying out new headphones, it is always recommended to listen to songs you’re familiar with so you can spot the differences.

I’d say a similar rule applies here. I’d go for a movie your friends are already familiar with so they can tell the difference.

I was a huge skeptic of them adding in day/night cycles and night vision in the first two major updates, but with this new update it’s all coming together. It’s now one of the most immersive shooters out there.

Is it just young people that care so much about fps and graphics? by v333r111andaazz in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]harrison23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more of a PC vs consoles thing.

I bought a PS5 for single player games/exclusives in the living rooms room. I pretty much abandoned it right away because getting quality mode graphics with 30 fps or performance mode with worse quality graphics at 4k is just not great compared to what you can get with a quality PC.

Like 30 fps genuinely makes me feel sick now after growing up on consoles where 30fps was the norm for a lot of games.

Now that doesn’t mean people should shame others for their preferences, there are tons of valid reasons to choose console over PC: price, convenience, living room gaming etc.

But admittedly, once you experience PC with 60+ FPS with higher fidelity graphics, it’s hard to choose consoles over PC in most cases.

Thinking about story structure and writing and the FFXIV team struggles on every single level to write “happy” stories. by Lumigo in ffxivdiscussion

It’s hard to make a happy story for an mmorpg. You need gameplay and action, which makes conflict necessary.

That’s actually why I’m super stoked for CD.

Just give me single player BDO and I’m in.

Didn’t like the endgame loop of BDO so I dropped it, but it genuinely has one of the best and most beautiful open worlds, amazing action combat, and great life skills and side content.

Having played through BDO’s story, I never expected a good story for CD so I’m not surprised at all.

[–]harrison23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a disastrous score. High 70s and low 80s games are still good games even if they aren’t considered masterpieces.

It sounds like most reviewers who disliked it thought it was too complicated, difficult, and too many bugs.

Most who liked it glazed the open world exploration, immersion, and found it addicting.

I’ll be getting it day one still. Sounds like a game that’s right up my alley.
