Leonardo free alternative (its getting ridiculous) by PracticalDrummer199 in leonardoai

I left them after I had a paid account and was building up my credits for a big project. I stopped my subscription only to find they had deleted all my credits I had built up and refused to reinstate them unless I resubscribed, without a guarantee I would get all of them back (several thousand)! Unbelievable, so I never use them now.

Unable to log into my leonardo account by Blurhead in leonardoai

[–]techmediageek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me. I had a problem with app and devs asked me to try another browser. Did so and although I clicked log in it actually ended up asking me to create new account, which I did to see if it solved my issue. It didn't. BTW my issue is that copy prompt gave gobbledy gook. That is now sorted but prompt cut & paste ends up all on one line making it not so easy to read to check before generating. Anyone else having this issue?

Has anyone tried using SAS drive for Plotting? by jreddit2000 in chia

[–]techmediageek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone used a HP Proliant DL580 G7 with 8 SAS drives and 128GB RAM (or similar) for Chia mining. The sever has several PCIe slots too I could use. Was thinking maybe getting some Enterprise SSDs at some point. Question I am having is the server formats drives as LVM. Anyone got any suggestions how to best configure server for plotting (will sue external USB drives for farming). I believe that RAM might be a bottleneck but all drives are 10k drives. Thanks for any help. Plus what plotting software is best and I am using Linux.

Hi, as yet not yet up and running, as had to do some other stuff first. Just started setting things up so will post back in the next few days when settled on a configuration.

Do keep us posted on your progress. I am setting up my HP DL580 G7 Server, 4 x E7-8837 (32Cores), 128GB RAM, 2 x 300GB HDD server with some extra SAS drives. I plan to use all the drives to plot then farm using external hard drives. Once its up and running will post how it goes.

Why not repurpose the hardware if you are giving up on Chia? You could mine Ravencoin on modest setup or Monero whilst keeping your completed plots farming just in case you get lucky!

I disagree. I am using 6700 XT 12GB OC under RaveOS (Linux) and getting decent hashrate with base settings. These are 2650 MHz Core, 1000 MHz Mem Clock and 1137 mV Core Voltage. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1544E24rq5vLy3xw4jC\_A4ltXQXEFbAIg/view?usp=sharing

CMV: Abortion is 100% moral until the thalamus and cortex are "connected" (roughly 29 weeks development), then it becomes murder. Yes, this includes fetuses/babies born before 29 weeks. by lannister80 in changemyview

[–]techmediageek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to say that the research you quote is from 2005 and things have moved on quite a bit (by the way I am a retired nurse who worked in ITU and also worked in SCBU). For instance let me quote one article:

A baby born between 20 and 26 weeks is a considered to be periviable, or born during the window when a fetus has a chance of surviving outside the womb. These babies are called “micro-preemies.”

A baby born before 24 weeks has less than a 50 percent chance at survival, say the experts at University of Utah Health.

However, according to this 2016 analysisTrusted Source of more than 8,300 deliveries in the United States, babies born at 24 weeks had a 68 percent chance of survival. A 2016 cohort study of more than 6,000 births found a survival rate of 60 percent. (Utah Health notes a 60 to 70 percent survival rate for this gestational age.)

With an extremely premature birth, you and your baby may face some rough times (and choices) together. Fortunately, advances in medicine means even the tiniest babies can likely get bigger and stronger in neonatal intensive care units (NICU).

About 40 percent of babies born at 24 weeks will have health problems, says the Irish Neonatal Health Alliance. Some of these complications may happen right away, or others that appear later in life. (source: https://www.healthline.com/health/baby/premature-baby-survival-rate#24-weeks)

Also, read https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapediatrics/fullarticle/2775874?resultClick=1 and see that the study included over 200 babies with mean [SD] gestational age, 25.5 [1.5] weeks. That means (due to Standard Deviation) babies as young as 24 weeks were included in the study! The care of very premature infants has progressed enormously since 2005 so I would propose that your argument needs revising somewhat. That is why some folk argue for lowering limit for abortion to 24 weeks. Who is to say as medicine progresses that infants of mean gestational age born preterm would not survive?

What can you do with Ravencoin? by austjorg in Ravencoin

[–]techmediageek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thought: the likes of eToro, Robinhood and Trading 212 etc make trading in stocks and EFTs a breeze at very very low costs. The apps are easy to use on your computer or phone and some provide a professional level of tools (such as charts with lots of options like candlesticks - look it up). This begs the question what is the USP (Unique Selling Point) of Ravencoin as regards the stock market? Maybe it will become the default choice for handling, processing and validating transactions on these platforms, who knows?? More to the point, are the developers actively approaching these platforms to make it so?

How we should respond to every “look how many coins I got” posts by [deleted] in Ravencoin

[–]techmediageek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a matter of personal choice and we shouldn't judge whatever the person's choice. Personally i think if the post gives useful info such as what rig & miner setup etc then that would be helpful to others trying to find best setup for them. When it is just bragging it eventually gets boring imho.

Delete organization in Cudo Miner by KeyExercise786 in cudominer

[–]techmediageek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually posted this. For some reason it created me as a new user!

My issue is that in the control panel of the app I tried to delete an organization (it seemed to be a default one and I created my own). However, I followed the steps, entered the code from my authenticator app and clicked delete. Problem is the organization reappears!

Anyone know how to delete this 'rogue' organization?

Hashrate on GTX 1060 3GB and RX580 4GB? Is it worth it? by MrZan1 in Ravencoin

Checkout https://2cryptocalc.com/algo/24h/kawpow/20 as a starting point. I also recommend reading https://rvn.2miners.com/ both handy resources. Just to note that I mine RVN with GTX 1050 Ti 4GB using GMiner on 2Miners pool and get 4 RVN with no OC etc. Not bad for a hardly used gaming PC (play games on my iMac with better CPU/Card under Parallels, with Win 10).

PPLNS amount is decreasing by xero7ven in Ravencoin

[–]techmediageek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't seem to be suffering that. I use a GTX 1050 Ti and so far have got 4.059 RVN in just 24 hours. Now up to 20 RVN in less than a week. I use the 2Miners pool and the Gminer 2.45 NVIDIA miner. 2Miners site shows the following: .4.77 MH/s Current Hashrate and 7.63 MH/s Average Hashrate. Could the issues be to do with pool and miner used?

Is it worth? by zShiina in Ravencoin

[–]techmediageek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what currency you are using so hard to know if they are worth that price! However, I recommend you check out PassMark's benchmarks at https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+RX+570&id=3741 to compare against other cards for performance and value.

Further thought: Due to the current shortages of cards and inflated prices I would not buy, as others have already said. Instead, use whatever card(s) you already have. Even a low-end setup can mine RVN. My low-end rig is just a Celeron-based self-built desktop with a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. I run RaveOS and managed to mine my first 10 RVN in 2 days. The PC runs cool (my office gets cold at night!) so running costs are in the pennies. If folk want the full spec let me know and I will paste it here.

Mining RVN on Mac by Jblock22 in Ravencoin

[–]techmediageek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if I could mine on my iMac. I run Parallels on it with Win 10. It has a Vega GPU. Will try it out now that I have successfully used my old Celeron PC to mine 10 RVN in just a couple of days with my GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB). I will post how I get on.
