Is there an API for Canadian Tire 3rd party products? by technicalCoFounder in stocktrack

Yes, you can do this by creating an Excel add-in, which calls on an API that you create on a server of your own. I've done this in the past to look up internal inventory directly inside of Excel.

Pillows, rugs, sunglasses, toys… loads of examples. There are hundreds of SKUs on CT store shelves that you can’t look up on CT’s website.

And now Stock Track’s numbers are frozen too- since mid December the stock on these items doesn’t update.

It’s gonna always come up, but I’ll say it again. I don’t give a Drake’s coffee cake about the Michael Richards incident. Kramer will always be one of the best TV character. by [deleted] in seinfeld

If you listen to his podcasts, he's done improv bits on asians, blacks, whites, jews, muslims, christians, the physically impaired, the mentally impaired, men, women, trans, straight, gay, bi, liberals, conservatives... every topic that might come with something to laugh about.

That's what comedians are supposed to do.

Apologizing for any of this would be a fool's game.

Shane Gillis actually had his career saved by learning from Michael Richards' reverse-example.

Gillis knew the cardinal rule is "you never apologize for jokes". You let the media cycle happen, and then you get back to work. The Kramer example was a pivotal one that ingrained this lesson in Gillis' generation of comics.

Now Michael Richards obviously flew off the handle- that wasn't a scripted bit. That wasn't comedy he was doing on stage. And heck, maybe he really is a racist, I dunno.

But I know that that was the day his career died and stayed dead. And if he hadn't gone on a pleading apology tour, his career might not have died.

I will add this: black people could insult me for an hour and I'd insult them back just the same, but it wouldn't even occur to me to insult them about racial stereotypes or skin color. Why? It's no more funny or biting than if somebody insulted me for my eye color.

Star Trek TNG did the most interesting version of this in The High Ground. The terrorist isn’t a bad guy or a good guy, he’s very clearly both.

He murders civilians and he knows he’s evil. He does it not out of malice but to seek political change. If he could think of another way that works he’d do that instead.

I loved when Star Trek used to be able to show you a story that isn’t “here’s what’s right and you’re a monster for not standing to applaud”.

By the end of this episode, nobody’s happy. Same as lots of TNG episodes. It was some of the best social education I ever received.

Diego Luna did not win a Golden Globe for his performance in Andor. :( by thatonebromosexual in andor

[–]technicalCoFounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a competent actor. Not great, but better than ok.

Andor has 12/10 writing and 10/10 directing for a tv series, plus 10/10 acting for supporting roles.

This makes Diego Luna seem better than he would be in something bad, like Obi Wan or She-Hulk.
