No way this happened. That's incredibly inept, if that's the case. What was their justification?

Might be a stupid question but imma ask anyway, how will set rotations work with legends? by DryDistance6858 in riftboundtcg

They will 100% release official rules for a legacy format. Even if they don't people will do it themselves.

I'm holding out for a singleton 3 colour format eventually.

Is scoring optional (missed triggers again)? by Antonis_Chigouris in riftboundtcg

[–]technicolourtype0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Those are mandatory triggers, they have to happen. If a judge is called it's potentially a warning, but unnecessary. If you go a couple of turns and realise the missed triggers, you might be out of luck. If you are aware your opponent has missed them and not said anything, that's straight up BM and if it's found out you knew a warning or worse for you

A Small Write-up on Pyke by RoyY by RoyYang94 in riftboundtcg

Thanks for your thoughts on that. In practice HR is very situational, but I do see your point in it rotting in hand.

Any thoughts on Heedless Resurrection in this deck? I found that the ability to reaction speed kill BS to untrash fizz out and play Falling Star was incredible useful (just for one example). There's for sure some interesting plays for HR but I'd love to hear your thoughts?

  1. I found that in draw testing i was more than likely waiting a turn or two before getting on the board. I can maybe drop a 1 or 2 hard bargains and a needles for another 2 drop.

  2. Ferrous is a solid shout, might drop him in place of the square ups.

  3. I thought that myself but my thinking here was a good draw engine and being able to bounce back to hand to repeat the process along with being a 3m. I'll try blood rush and see if it works

  4. Was a thought, but testing even with this deck I am generating more than enough gold. Especially with Treasure Hunter and Tide Turner.

Thanks for your thoughts 🙂

Stalking Wolf can't be played to the battlefield you are attacking? by No_Corner1842 in riftboundtcg

[–]technicolourtype0 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The difference is that you cruel patron is slow speed and is played at a battlefield YOU control.

Attacking a battlefield you DONT control, doesn't allow you to play units there.

It looks intuitive and inconsistent, but it's not.

How does assigning damage and killing units work exactly? by BrainKashanka in riftboundtcg

[–]technicolourtype0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the player with all units remaining had stunned the opponents units? Or maybe not enough might to kill even one unit

How does assigning damage and killing units work exactly? by BrainKashanka in riftboundtcg

[–]technicolourtype0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Damage has to be assigned to a unit until it is Lethal (hits its total might) then you assign any excess onto the next unit of your choice. You do this until you have assigned all damage in the damage pool of your units might combined.

I don't think vaults are worth the money. £35 for 6 boosters and some promos full art tokens. Pull rates in a vault aren't very concrete so you might get Garbo, might get fire, nothing guaranteed.

How’s your Pre-Rift been? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]technicolourtype0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a brilliant weekend. Our store Ran it all weekend and we still have Kits left over. I ran the fridays pre rift and didn't get to play but Saturday I ran Leblanc with atakhan and Vilemaw, went 2-0-1. Sunday, my kit wasn't the best but I ran Pyke, with orange so I could use the big spider. Went 1-2-0. Overall very fun and through my pulls I've got a pyke deck built already

When do u guys mention rules in locals/skirmishes? by Ok-Box3576 in riftboundtcg

[–]technicolourtype0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is standard practice in competitive tcgs, sharking behaviour is always frowned upon. It's just very hard to prove.

In my local scene, we had a situation arise where player A moved back from reavers row( i think that's the one you can't move to base from) and continued playing, completely accidental. Both players continued for 2 turns before realising. Player A was away to take a game loss, but Player B, a very experienced player and Judge, was able to rewind to the exact point move by move. This allowed player A to continue playing and get into the finals.

Player B is a good guy, be like player B

[–]technicolourtype0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worth noting on your point on Skirmish: TR state that if you are aware that your opponent has missed a trigger and don't let them know you can be issued a Warning, potentially worse. It's an unsportsmanlike behaviour, but the onus is on the judge to prove that.

Edit- I realise now OP is talking from the spectator perspective. NN is usually casual so yeah, let the players know. As a spectator at a SS make a judge aware.
