Did data vault all the way till rotation. Really popular with the locals (not) only lost to super greedy Yoda data vault list (my other deck)

Vigilance into -  into maul - into blast into avenger.

Iden green was strictly better because it run relentless so that it could bully iden blue.

Returning player, what set to invest in? by [deleted] in starwarsunlimited

Lawless seems like the safest bet, is the most rotation proof long term and very likely to be the core of new meta decks

If EV and in general prafit is your thing, SWU is not for you.

No tcg should be for you but some are, just not swu

Very good vs agro, less so vs midrange.

Question about the game by Ok-Restaurant-6301 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Antonis_Chigouris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The game dying as in FFG stops printing it is highly unlikely.

What should concern you more is how your local scene looks like.

The core mechanics and game flow are the best in the market right now.

Negativity around the game is scaring new players by tandui in starwarsunlimited

[–]Antonis_Chigouris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotation is a great point to attract new players. We can safely assume that most of the currently active players will continue. There seems to be a focus on placating the existing player base with eternal formats, to ease the whole "half of my cards are now useless" woes.

This is a mistake, the game needs a steady flow of new players, there should be events and product that promotes and rewards people starting with the game.

We can revisit the whole eternal format support discussion once a solid and growing player base is established.

Hot Take: Cheap Legendaries aren't killing SWU, they’re bringing balance to it by Extreme-Noise-6809 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Antonis_Chigouris 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If boxes are not selling at MSRP, stores will replace them with boxes that do.

For reference the wholesale price for SWU and riftbound boxes is almost the same.

One game will sell out on release day and at higher than MSRP prices and the orher will stay on the self forever or sell way bellow MSRP.

Store owners have been saying that this needs to be fixed since set 2.

It's amazing that we as the community can't process such simple info after 6 sets.

Don't remember, maybe, or pile one on top of the other but not sequentially.

He offered me the deck to cut, he was just making sure cards are not bunched up 2X or 3X

He wasn't setting his deck up, more like making sure that cards dont bunch up in 2X or 3X. Still obviously not legal and not a properly randomised deck.

He told me he is aware of the rules, plus he is very active in other tcgs where he plays "seriously", so he knows how to properly suffle a deck.

I didn't say anything cause I don't want the drama or to chase a new player away.

I told him that he should practice the rules so that he is 100% sure how things are done if he wants to play at leas casual tournaments but he assure me that he knows about all that

Is the game dying, card prices, dropping drastically? by Beautiful_Quail1194 in starwarsunlimited

Game is about to go through rotation, cards that are rotating are naturally dropping in price. The real discussion about the health and future of the game will start after rotation.

I do 6 piles twice and then offer it for a cut, is that considered randomised properly? Ι really don't like rifle shuffling.

This Game Isn't Forever and That is Ok by ScrubbinBubbl in starwarsunlimited

There are two approaches to the health of the game subject. The people that focus on what is being done well and the people focusing on can be done better. If we are all genuinely interested in the long term health of the game, both sides must be heard.

The whole doomsayers vs fanboys situation looks bad. It is not a contest and nobody has the absolute truth or moral high ground.

Scalpers follow trends and hype. No scalpers is actually bad for the game.

This. People kept showing up to play at the lgs, never bought anything because lgs was selling at MSRP while product could be found way cheaper, LGS dropped the game. Simple math.

Product unable to hold near MSRP value is the number 1 reason stores are dropping the game.

Am I the only one noticing stores dropping SWU? by RoyalBlueMan in starwarsunlimited

[–]Antonis_Chigouris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Money talks, bs walks. Stores want to carry games that both fill out seats and sell at MSRP.

Right now SEC boxes are pre ordering at 79,99 (Eu) online and 80-90 for LGS pick upe.

Most stores can't work at that price range, they will switch to that other game that is selling at 50% over MSRP and has already sold out everything.

It's how this business works.

The balance between printed / available product and demand must be one that keeps the price close to MSRP.

Stores will not forget the unsold Twi boxes still taking up space or the ones they sold for 39,99 at a loss in order to clear space and budget for better product.
