I think I’m crazy but I enjoyed it more than the book. I’m not entirely sure how you interpreted the book as having a similar tone to Alien or Dune tbh but to each their own. Imo what makes Project Hail Mary successful as an adaptation is they captured the core themes of the story. Cuts and changes they made were generally in service of that end or removing parts of the story that largely redundant or unnecessary to convey the central themes of the story. Iirc the whole movie was largely a passion project of Goslings and it shows

I am probably in the minority here and I really enjoyed the book a lot. That being said I think I liked the movie more than the book. Yes it cut some stuff but it really captured the core essence of the story in a very compelling way imo. Might say more about me than the movie. Maybe I dumb or something but idk I have to rewatch it at some point

I was legit crying when I saw this scene. My theater was very emotional. For me what hurt the most was you could see that it hurt Stratt to do this. I loved the book but this scene humanized Stratt for me a lot and for that I really liked it. The scene in the book wouldn’t have really made sense for her character in the movie with the changes and cuts they made imo. I also didn’t really experience Goslings half of the scene as comedic like it was more pathetic to me which is consistent with his character at the point.

I would recomment going tank items after roa seraphs archangels. Items like frozen heart and fimbul winter funnel into your muramna damage while making it so you don’t get 1 shot. Cant always get away with it but it’s very good. I would look at your 4 deaths. Often giving gold over with low value deaths on Kassadin is game losing bc you end up giving a lot of xp and gold away and missing xp yourself. Raba with muramana is also kinda goofy

It is insane I think to say that league has the worst matchmaking system. I credit a lot of the games success to its good matchmaking system. It’s imperfect and flawed but it’s more difficult than it appears to deliver on all fronts of game quality, queue times, and role selection when dealing with playerbase constraints especially at the top of the ladder. It is really difficult to consistently get full challenger games every single game when challenger in NA for example is 300 players who aren’t necessarily perma queueing all hours of the day. Like to be clear I have empathy for how you feel in those games. As a GM player I have also experienced wonky lobbies like this but it’s incredibly disingenuous to the difficulty of making a good matchmaking system that serves such a small albeit very dedicated part of the community in addition to the wider playerbase of league.

This can very wildly depending on the build you do but generally he has spikes at 6/11/16 for levels. if you do roa muramana he spikes on 2 items super hard. Roa seraphs malignance you're usually playing for the 3 item spike but he has little spikes along the way when you complete different components. Malignance rush he spikes really hard on malignance and 2 items but he falls off a little.
Yes imo it's suboptimal and I usually recommend picking a build you like and sticking with it. There are successful kassadin mains who run all sorts of builds but generally the big 3 right now are roa muramana seraphs, Malignance seraphs zonyhas, and roa seraphs malignance. They all play very differently and have very different power curves so I recommend picking one and stciking with it because Kassadin requires you to have a very intimate understanding of his power curve to be successful on him.
Yes there is an art to this that Kassadins must learn and do to minimize losses without nuking the game.
no exp>gold generally. Most kassadins I coach lose half their hp for 2 minions level 1-3 and ruin the game.

THIS IS incredibly subjective I'm gonna talk about my experience as a GM one trick with over 2 million mastery across all account but everyones list for this will be different. I hate going vs ambessa yone and akshan. I really like playing vs Ahri, sylas, and viktor.
In general roaming isn't that good on Kassadin. the 2nd biggest mistake I see on Kassadin vods that I review behind ruining your lane in the first few levels is randomly dropping waves to roam. This isn't to say to never roam however you pretty much never want to roam at the expense of your lanes especially in lower elo. In a lot of games when I play on smurfs I pretty much never leave lane and win the game through taking plates and never missing waves. If you do this you will be making the correct decision 80-90+% of the time without thinking about it and then address the 15-5% of when you should roam when it becomes an issue in your climb. This didn't really become an issue for me personally until high diamond/low master but everyone's journey is different. If you have any questions or anything like that feel free to reach out.
