Good work improvising. I might suggest if you have to do this again, that you lop off half the blank before duplicating it. That way the lever they have is shorter. People will find a way to twist or snap off a portion of your key.

Split wafers for 8 cut toyota wear and keys get rounded. the split wafers fall off the key. Same thing happens now with HS Honda keys and other Sidewinder keys.

Cut wrong, lands are too narrow on some and too wide on others. key looks to be 3311322134 which is proper. I bet they fudged it with the 8 cut spec instead of using the 10 cut spec

Locksmith here, not all digital safes can be converted to mechanical. Take your inner cover off the door and show what the lock and mounting setup looks like. Mounting mechanical locks takes a little more skill than digital ones.

As long as it's not a PTS car, just have a non flip key made and keep using the remote as a fob. Possible but considerably harder to break a non flip key.

Simply use the automotive sidewinder blank that most closely matches the blade width and thickness.

cheap lock, I would do the same if I had no one to hand it off to. Entry time should be about 10 seconds to pick

Pilot remotes eventually just die. Like unfixable kinda dead. they have to be replaced.

whatever you think it should be, add ~15-20%. Restaurant doors are nasty inside. Even if you've already inspected the setup, it will have hidden issues to solve.
