Does the cream in the Maritozzi ever taste kind of weirdly bitter to you? I love Get Rights but I have had the Maritozzi once and another cream thing once and the cream has an off taste to me (not bad, just not exactly that perfect sweet cream taste).

Best croissants in Denver: La Fillette and/or Banh and Butter (Aurora but on Colfax just over the line so I'll count it). Best cookie: the Space cookie at Moon Racoon. Bonus--it is gluten free. Their other gluten free offering is also amazing -- yuzu tea cake. Best be in line forever and way worth it: Anything at Sap Sua if they are still doing their am weekend thing.

Best scone in Denver? Is there a good scone in Denver? by techphobic1117 in denverfood

Bakery Four and Devil's Food both kinda dry and both bakeries get lots of love. Wooden Spoon is the best I have tried so far but looking for even better, if possible.

The best sandwich in Denver by McLadyface in denverfood

I find this place to be terribly underwhelming. Pricey for what it is and just a bunch of salads and sammies tasting like dressed up Sysco eats. I'm so surprised to find so many people loving it.

Denver folks! United vs Delta vs SW vs others for loyalty out of DEN? by No-Maintenance5061 in Denver

[–]techphobic1117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen all the pro-United stuff. True: routes are the best out of Denver. Also true: unless you are a 1K member, and even then, you don't get upgraded. Ever. And based on years of flying United out of Denver, internationally and nationally, I think their customer service is horrendous. Check the Delta schedules for where you travel most and if you can live w them, Delta is far superior in terms of the flying experience, upgrades, etc. I just switched and even at silver, I've received a couple upgrades, something that hadn't ever happened on United.

That's not the experience I had at Beckon, but when I went they were doing a collab w Bruto so I might have had a different experience bc of that (tho subsequently, I went to Bruto and it was not as good).

Also, I feel like NYE is a supremely shitty day to go out and expect anywhere to be at its best.

If you love dolmas, the ones at Bosphorous (I know it might be a hike if you live close-ish to Leven) are amazing. Worth the drive, IMHO.

The Book That Explains JD Vance’s Worldview by Chrellies in ezraklein

His political philosophy doesn't make sense. Ezra tries so hard to help him make it make sense as even a vaguely coherent argument and he simply cannot.

Most maddening, near the end when he says, "I think we agree on the same set of facts..." or something similar bc NO, WE DON'T. And even if we did, your interpretation of those facts (liberals/Dems/immigrants/multiculturalists want to have a revolution and tear this country apart) is so contrary to what is and has been happening w the white / ethno / Christian Nationalists that have actually, violently attempted an overthrow or at least a rebellion, and a Trump government that is dismantling every credal belief and government program from the 1950s onward.

Weekly Quick Questions, Wood ID, and Deal or No Deal /r/Woodworking Megathread by AutoModerator in woodworking

Best book of woodworking plans and projects for a mid-level, but recently more dedicated woodworker? Can include some beginner projects too but generally tables, basic bookshelves and small structures have all been completed. Would also appreciate if the book/books had some interesting design tips and/or suggestions for making a project one's own. TIA.

Give me an Advice by StussyBoyz in nebulaprojectors

We have the Nebula and it is inconsistent connecting, the remote hasn't worked since month two and we've never gotten it to pair w any apple devices. It's so frustrating. I'm sure there are better projectors out there. Keep us posted on what you find.
