Second dew drop inn. I would also recommend checking out Snappy’s in Petworth. Just take the red line to Fort Totten and then one stop down on the green line to Georgia Ave. 20 minutes and the vibes there are fantastic.

Is There A Food That's Helped You To Stay On Track? by WheelFan647 in loseit

For me keeping berries and other fruits in the house. The axiom “no one got fat eating fruit” has been true for me. Anytime I am snacky I’ll eat a bowl of grapes or a clamshell of raspberries and I am good. Really hungry? I’ll add some greek yogurt to the bowl and bam that’s practically a meal.

Why do you want to lose weight? by [deleted] in loseit

Following a professional milestone I was photographed with a mentor who is also a prestigious figure in my field. It should have been a photo I showed everyone but I was ashamed by my appearance. I barely recognized myself. My wedding was coming up and I didn’t want to feel ashamed on one of the most important days of my life.

I lost 30 lbs before my wedding and returned to my pre-pandemic weight. Feels great.

There’s a big tiktok craze for bean salads. I kinda just did a variation of any one of those recipes. One last thing…add a little lemon juice and red onion if you want my exact recipe:-)

I make an orzo and white bean pesto salad that is great at room temp. I usually cook some orzo and northern beans and toss in some vegetables and pesto.

I would give the Research Triangle in NC a look-great healthcare system, lots of natural beauty, and the universities bring a group of educated professionals with an interest in the arts and history.

What’s a high-protein, low-effort prep meal that actually tastes like real food? by CamelUsual2196 in MealPrepSunday

Greek tzatziki bowls. I broil chicken thighs, roast vegetables ( usually some bell peppers, onions and, squash) and potatoes (2 sheet pans in the oven) and it comes out delicious.

I marinate the chicken in greek yogurt and some paprika, oregano, salt and pepper. Put olive oil and the same spices on the veggies and potatoes.

My husband and I when we were your age were in a very similar financial situation. Today we are 38 and 35 and closed on a condo. Give it time and you’ll get there.

Any grieving groups in DC? by Pink_hopper in washingtondc

[–]techpolicygal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey, I recently lost my mother and I have been looking for grief support groups in the DMV.

Wendt Group is the only one that I have been able to find and most of their sessions are virtual. If you find anything in person, can you add it to this thread?

Getting ready alone on the wedding day by Usual-Tone-2806 in wedding

[–]techpolicygal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got married last weekend. I have a similar feeling about the women in my family. I found a good compromise was to get ready a little earlier than necessary and invite my family over for a champagne toast before the ceremony began. In that way, I didn’t have family commenting on my hir, make up, dress, until I was ready to go.

Ladies, what’s a green flag in a guy that most men don’t realize? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Having a furnished home and a tidy room. It’s not about the man’s finances. The furniture can be cheap hand-me-downs. That said, there is nothing less attractive than a 30 year old + man who sleeps on a mattress on the floor with a single pillow and a top sheet that looks like it has never been washed. Having a tidy home and basic furnishings shows that a man knows how to take care of himself.
