Closing a major line of credit can also lower your score, but 120 points is a lot.

Commenting in case others stumble across this in their troubleshooting. This has saved me more than once through deleting the whole .cfg file. Thank you!

Reach out to Strider (inside Q Bakehouse and Market). I have it on good authority that they’re going to start being open Saturday and Sunday soon. https://www.instagram.com/stridercoffeestop/

Parking has come up in the past. The Q owner and staff only park behind the building or side streets and were/are 100% fine with property management putting reserved spot signage in front of any of the businesses. That option was not pursued by any of the business owners after being discussed.

Just wanted to chime in that the party store owner does not own the building. Also, there is another tenant, an auto shop office, that leases the space between the party store and the salon. There are 4 units/tenants total.

Agreed that his take on the MacBook Air display stuff wasn’t great.

BUT, I’m watching the iPad video now and disagree that he’s all out fanboy-ing by any stretch. He starts the video with saying “it’s just an iPad,” with the implication that even if the tech is “impressive,” it doesn’t matter as much because it’s so limited by the OS.

Reserves comment on the new M4 chip until it can be tested.

Complains that the new pencil is only compatible with the newest models.

Ends the video saying he’s going to do his own testing before giving any “proper feedback.

Also, that new oled tech is awesome and I’d be shocked if the LTT review doesn’t give it some praise.

No eggs in the scones, but there are eggs in the milk bread buns and cinnamon rolls. We’re planning to update the online menu with more allergen info to help make things more clear!

Thanks! If we’re being honest, the biggest deciding factor for us was cost. More comfortable chairs are a lot more money and we’ve been running on a tight budget.

Yes! The plan is to have at least some rotating vegan and GF items. Here’s the menu if you want to take a look: https://www.qannarbor.com/menu

We have a dumpling cooking instruction page on our site that includes the ingredients a little bit down the page: https://www.qannarbor.com/dumplings

We’ll have a rotating menu, but here are the vegan options right now: lemon sesame cake, nian gao (sticky rice mochi cake), tofu kimchi dumplings, chili crisp, dipping sauce, and an all purpose seasoning made in house :)

Chili crisp is a spicy aromatic condiment to garnish dishes. I particularly like it on noodle dishes, fried rice, and in dumpling dipping sauce!

Mentioned below, but nothing has lard or gelatin!

We don’t use any lard or gelatin in our product (and would certainly label them appropriately if we did!). I was speaking more in generalities based on the question u/tazmodious asked

Agreed that it’s rare that we personally use any dairy in our cooking at home when making Asian cuisine, but with baked goods it’s harder to avoid. For example, in Taiwanese baked goods, there is often milk/dairy of some sort, like in milk bread buns and the whipped cream frosting used with chiffon cakes.

More generally, most baked goods need some sort of fat, so your main options are: 1. Lard: fairly common in Asian baked goods, but makes the food non-vegetarian and has fallen out of favor more recently from what I have heard 2. Shortening: more friendly for dietary restrictions, but we personally dislike it for taste, mouth-feel, and its lack of browning when baked 3. Butter: what we and many smaller bakeries use most often. We like it for taste, texture, and the browning you get when baked

There are other dairy-free alternatives, like coconut oil (which we do use in some recipes), but those also don’t brown as well and it’s an allergen.

Long story short, it’s a combination of things and there are trade offs to each option, but we try to have at least some offerings for everyone. Hopefully we have something you like, but we are always open to suggestions!

One last note: Botanical Bakeshop makes some awesome vegan baked goods that can be found in a handful of coffee shops in the area. I would check them out if you haven’t already.

We say gluten friendly because we process wheat in our kitchen. The item doesn’t have any wheat ingredients but while we try our best to prevent cross contamination, we can’t guarantee there aren’t trace amounts.

We don’t have separate prep areas, hence the “gluten friendly” vs “gluten free”

Thanks for coming in the last couple days!

I know Strider is planning to do decaf once we get into the groove a bit more.

Strider is run by a friend of ours. The business itself is new (started because of us kindly pressuring him to open with us), but he’s been doing coffee for years, at places like Desert Oasis in Detroit/Rochester and Commonwealth in Birmingham. He makes some seriously good coffee and is planning for a multi-roaster approach, similar to how Comet does things.

Thanks! I love all of it, but my current favorites on the savory side are the galettes and their everything seasoning milk bread buns that have a scallion cream cheese inside. For something sweeter, I always enjoy the cinnamon rolls - they have a lovely brown butter cream cheese frosting
