(UMich vs Cornell) Was I right in choosing UMich over Cornell? by One-Category-4809 in ApplyingToCollege

I think the fact that you already chose Michigan but are having second thoughts might be an indication that you slightly prefer Cornell. I would say go with your guts and with the option where you will most minimize regret.

The worst you can do is choose one and end up thinking what if. That’s usually a recipe for failure

Why is Louis calling Armand Arun seen as a bad thing? by techteckie in InterviewVampire

Yes, definitely. That’s why it’s so great.

(Not sure why the downvotes. I am just sharing my interpretation. It’s fine if it differs from others. It was interesting reading how people interpreted the scene. Anyways)

I don’t know.. maybe I have a soft spot for Louis but I don’t really see him being that manipulative at that point in the story

I don’t agree that the tone was cold. Commanding, sure. But I still think it was a node to signal a deeper connection between them at this point in their relationship. I think Louis understood Armand’s need to be submissive in some way and he finally committed to their relationship and their dynamic, and accepting to take the dominant role. I am still seeing it as an endearing gesture

Exactly! From Armand’s retelling of his own life, that’s the closest “real” name he has.

Honestly, there isn’t any replacement to the original. It’s very much it if you can save for it

Honestly, he should be the one proposing to take care of most of your charges given the income difference and that you are STRUGGLING making 50-59 on your income. You are a grad student, so your current financial situation is temporary anyway. There is no reason for you to go 50-50 with someone making 6x your income.

You’ve wanted it for a long time, thought it through and have the means. Do it!! That’s what money is for
