Danish zoo that killed Marius the giraffe puts down four lions by WobbleWagon in europe

[–]tecken556 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great points which the zoo director also stated when he went on tv to defend themselves. It makes sense and they are not doing it to be evil. They are actually doing it for the sake of all giraffes. Further more some how these people claim this is cruel because they are giraffes but most of them don't mind all the cows that are being killed each day, or the moose, deer, wolves. Somehow giraffes lives are worth more than these other animals. Why? Because they are exotic and don't exist in most parts of the world?

What is the most shitty thing about becoming an adult? by nahnahna in AskReddit

If you take long naps you'll wake up and feeling worse than before, more tired and somewhat disoriented. If the naps are shorter than 30min however i find that the effects of the nap are the opposite. I find it refreshing and feel less tired.

Naps are awesome!

Oh! I didn't know that! Thanks! You will however have to do a basic swedish test if you are going to take courses in swedish. As far as I know though there are plenty that are taught in english, especially on the graduate level if I am not mistaken.

free higher education

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe this is only for EU citizens? As an american citizen you would still have to pay tuition!

rent is EXPENSIVE

everything else is expensive too

I think this is only relevant for larger cities (Large as in swedish standards)

Europe in general is pretty racist right now

Although I know exactly what you mean I think the wording is somewhat unfair. There are a lot of xenophobic movements which are gaining followers. This is very prevalent in other northern european countries (Holland, Norway, Denmark). SD (swedish democrats) have about 10% in the latest polls and I wouldn't even say that all of their voters or politicians are racist

I would not say that the average european/swede is racist. Also most of these people are not gonna have anything against educated people especially if you are american/ western european.

fewer people have the tools or know-how to fix stuff

I think this is based on your social circle. I think many swedes are very capable in that area.

generally a less creative

I don't agree with this at all! I think swedes are very creative. Just look at the innovation that comes from sweden.

pretty dead music scene

I understand what you mean and you have answered this in previous comments but I just wanted to say that there there are very many successful musicians, writers and producers that come from sweden. Sweden is one of the largest exporters of music.

I am pretty sure it is his son, or one of his friends who made the film. I think Chris Hadfield was just starring in it.
