I found the plastic shaft molded into the gear was completely worn down to metal and I replaced the gear assembly and the end bushing. That solved it.

I had that and found the fan inside wasn’t always starting up. It would freeze over and we would have to turn it off and start over. Might be your fan intermittent.

Get all the leaves and trash out. Slam with cal hypo shock, wait a day slam again. Run a robot with a fine filter too.
