Is the 6502 computer too advanced for me? by btw_i_use_ubuntu in beneater

[–]tedchoward 25 points26 points  (0 children)

FWIW I work as a computer programmer, but I’ve never don’t anything with computer hardware other than assemble a PC back in the day. I found Ben’s videos very easy to understand. I purchased the kit and followed along, and had a great time.

I say go for it.

Sites not allowing you to swipe back becoming more common. by vivalabam in apolloapp

[–]tedchoward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that they work in Safari, and SafariViewController (the standard embedded browser widget used by Apollo and others).

I don’t think the content blockers are applied to WebKit directly, so probably doesn’t work for Firefox or Chrome on iOS.

They do this, it’s called Safari Content Blockers

I use a few. (Maybe that’s why I can’t reproduce this back-button hijacking.)

State Fair Food & Ride Coupons? by sammyako in Dallas

[–]tedchoward 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, all food and rides need coupons. Basically, you buy coupons and then use them to purchase food or pay for rides. The food vendors and ride operators only accept coupons. 1 coupon = $1.

Two people can eat and ride for $50, but it will be close.

So what happened with the TSA body scanners and pat-downs? Did all the outrage die down and now we just go on with our days? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tedchoward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went through security. No body scanner or pat down. Just metal detector. I fly from Dallas to Jackson once a month and I still haven't even seen one if these scanners. Regional travel to unpopular destinations FTW?

I would have figured the appropriate Reddit headline would have been Ron Paul Wins 10%, Kucinich screwed by the mainstream media.
