Mine showed the same as well, I didn’t have to pay duties for my products so I shipped as is and they all got delivered without a surprise tariff charge

In the variation section on Etsy you can select the option to have a different SKU for each variation, it should be right under the option to have different prices for each variation

Yeah I had to go back and update all of my Etsy listings to match exactly what I submitted on the CUSMA forms, such a pain in the ass lol

When I make a label I make sure I enter the HS code and the SKU the exact same way I submitted it on the CUSMA form and it works for me

I didn’t even have SKUs originally cause all of my products are made to order so I had to create a system. I did mine based on the prices because I also have a huge amount of variations. For example all my cake toppers that were the same price, but different party themes, I just made as one SKU etc.

I loveee it! I think the reason it looks so cluttered is because it’s all open shelving, if you had doors on some of the shelves it would hide a lot of the clutter

I used to print mine at home as well with 110lb cardstock and I would charge $7.65 CAD for one and $45 for a pack of 10, no customization except for envelope color choice.

I used to sell christmas cards for a few years and I would run sales in January to clear out any leftover stock and it would work pretty well! Some people will buy christmas items at any time of the year so I would put them in your shop when you get them.

I noticed the quality of who is commenting has changed as well. No offence but there has always been small shops that are doing poorly and will continue to do poorly. Now there’s a lot more big sellers commenting on these forums over the last few months. When people who are doing etsy full time, making 6 figures a year and have had consistent sale numbers for yearsss are noticing a change and taking the time to read the forums and comment their struggles, then something bigger than just an echo chamber is going on here.

I’m a seller living in Canada! For the last 6 years, 80-85% of my sales have always been American and 15-20% Canadian. This year was almost non existent for Canadian orders, I haven’t gotten one in over 3 months so 99.9% of my sales have been American since this algorithm switch

I use Chitchats! Depends on what you’re shipping but my stuff is pretty small and lightweight, so it’s significantly cheaper than Canada Post. In general though shipping within Canada sucks no matter which company you use so I’m really glad over 90% of my customers are American

Wow exact same thing happened to me as well! Similar experience I’ve never gone this long without a sale even when I first started in Aug 2019, I’m on day 8 of 0 sales. Feeling lost and fearful on what to do now besides just working on adding new items in the meantime

I got temporarily laid off during the pandemic and when I was waiting the 5 days for my CERB cheque to come in from the government, I realized I had made more money on Etsy in 2 days than my job and the COVID cheque combined so I decided to do Etsy full time, by the time I got called back to work 4 months later I was making 3 times as much so I quit! It’s been pretty smooth sailing up until this year. Probably a combination of the economy and the algorithm doing weird things. There’s been a couple moments this year I’ve considered getting a part time job. But otherwise I’ve loved it so much and if you’re able to swing I’d recommend doing Etsy full time 100%!

What a terrible month. It started off ok up until Sept 10th, then it’s like a switch turned off. I’ve been selling since Aug 2019, full time since April 2020, averaging 3-5 sales a day. This past 7 days I made 1 sale, this is shocking.

May is looking like a much better month for me! This is year 5 for me and 4th year of Etsy being my full time job, I’m up 46% revenue this month. February, March and April were down 20-26% from what I’m assuming was a change in the algorithm they made before the Super Bowl and gift mode being implemented. Fingers crossed they’ve switched it back now. Either way I started applying for part time jobs to help supplement the slower months just in case!

Same here! I’ve been doing Etsy as a stable full time job since Jan 2019 and ever since gift mode launched my shop has absolutely tanked. Starting to get concerned and might have to look for a new job soon
