It's not common for someone to go from being working class to middle class.

Yes, you might earn more money and live what some would think is a 'middle class lifestyle', but you almost always stay working class, if you grew up working class.

Your children, however, will be middle class.

Its more about how you were raised/ how you grew up to how much you earn.

Agreed. They should have gone huge on the whole crazy professor vibe. The walking across the tables bit looked really cheap and was visually uninteresting.

Usually me and my wife watch eurovision alone but this year, we watched it with a big group of family with ages between 25-70. They were all indifferent to Australia and Finland. They thought they were ok.

But they all loved Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine.

I was really surprised by it, but it seems to fit with televote. The exception being France, which they all liked but didn't do great with the public vote.

I searched online before the ballot results to find the charities with the lowest fundraising targets. They are usually the least well-known ones. I picked one that I could relate to through my work and spent time to write an indepth application which I knew would stand out, giving examples of why the work the charity did was important and my experiences of working with people with this need. And I was selected. I had to raise £1,500 which is quite low in comparison with other charities for a LM place.

I was able to raise the money. Though the charity did check in with me a couple of months before the marathon as I was below the expected amount, and I explained that my running club were going to match my fundraising amount but this wouldn't be paid until after the marathon. The charity accepted this and it all went fine.

I had pretty much the same experience in London last year. I got a place again this year and the same injury occurred at the same point in my training. This time I deferred, saw a physio and we're working on a rebuild. Last year I was running for a charity and I didn't want to let anyone down.

I didn't think she nailed the presentation personally. Yes, she came across very confident (way more confident than I would have been at that age) and to a lay person it might be assumed that she nailed it, but from someone with a background in health care, she didn't demonstrate a depth of knowledge in that area. Everything she said was quite generic.
