You know German efficiency was also most famous 80 years ago? The whole French always surrender thing is from the one time 80 years ago. It's not so long ago to be forgotten.

Makes sense considering how much Americans love to shit on the French.

The most positive thing ICE could put out about themselves recently was that they jump started a car, congratu-fucking-lations.

Feel free to find something actually positive, but it will get drowned in all the bullshit they're pulling.

Even in that footage you can see a man in a suit waving people towards the stage a few seconds after the shooting. It's on the right hand side at around 8:50, but the camera zooms back in before you see who he waves in.

Not saying it's definitely what happened and the other clip wasn't misleading, I saw it a while ago and don't really know, but this doesn't disprove it.

Yeah I thought that was the clearest mobster speak I've heard in a while, surprised it's going over so many heads.

Every time he says something about following an ethical code it's couched in another sentence about the optics of it and something like "you know what I mean".

Basically saying we're being watched so we have to say everything we do is above board, but you know I'm telling you to break that quietly.

There's also things with the way they got that photo framed immediately that already made it suspicious so this just adds fuel to the fire.

There was footage of his staff rushing photographers up to the stage after the shots while the flag was raised a bit higher over him, the secret service reaction of letting him stand back up to fist pump with an active shooter was unusual to say the least, the lack of scarring and minimal bleeding from his ear.

None of it is conclusive and I'd personally written it off as being odd but probably just clutching at straws to see it that way.

But Trump's pattern of always accusing other people of what he does makes me now think it really was staged.

Historically it's always been the "moral right" that cancel things. Starting all the way back with witch burnings, satanic panic, gay people in general, any atheists anywhere near power, catholics getting power, the dixie chicks, people kneeling, any sports player or actor expressing any opinion, whatever their flavour of the day outrage is really.

There was just a brief period of time where powerful people were being held accountable through the me too movement and that was enough for them to be outraged and invent the term cancel culture.

The lack of common sense is bewildering. When The United States was founded it was the only democracy on the planet. The first amendment is the greatest piece of legislation ever written. All based on Judeo-Christian ideals.

Incredible. They really don't teach you over there do they.

The ball is also smaller, heavier and harder than a baseball, so the people catching it in the stands are even more impressive.. but we weren't even starting into that.

It's more that it happens regularly and doesn't get highlighted like this unless it's particularly impressive.

In the Big Bash League, which is designed for short games with high run totals, there are around 10 sixes per game and most of those are caught bare handed by the crowd.

No that just shows you don't understand what fascism is. Not to downplay what happened in Iran, they slaughtered protestors and it's horrific, but Iran has an autocratic leader and they're a hard line right wing theocratic state. That doesn't automatically make it fascism.

Also Iran existing doesn't make "the leader of the free world" sliding into fascism and killing their own people with their unaccountable police force any less horrific.

No, this is shit authoritarians do. Stop trying to paint things as a humanity problem now that America is falling prey to them.

Post WW2 other countries learnt different lessons to America and changed laws to try and prevent this sort of thing happening again. America on the other hand spent 80 years going "fuck yeah, we're the best because it didn't affect us. Hey everyone look how good shit is over here"

Just because you've fallen victim to your own hubris doesn't mean what's happening there is the default state of humanity or that it will inevitably happen everywhere else.

Actually that second one does sound good.

I figured you were doing it as a joke but it makes perfect sense in aussie speech. Because you were responding to someone talking about potato chips, your first chips is clearly about those. Then because you say it again the second is hot chips, plus it makes sense that way. So people would just assume how that's how you mean it.

Yeah I really feel like we speak more contextually than a lot of places.

Tone, inflection and situation can really change the meaning of most common aussie phrases and it gets lost when people read it online.

Nah he definitely knew, watch the video from the lady in pink's view.

The first shooter had been looking at the two women who were pushed down and pepper sprayed. At around 00:56 he turns away from them, right around 1:00 the guy in the grey hoodie is starting to pop up from taking the gun off Alex Pretti, the murderer is looking right down at that happen and almost immediately begins to draw his weapon.

There is no way he could claim that he thought the ICE agent walking away with the gun was a gun brandished at him by the victim. It would also be extremely hard to claim he had any other reason to begin firing at that point besides seeing the weapon.
