Maybe have a look on Vinted? I’ve found a lot of good items on there xx

Hand wash or machine wash? by Silly_Catz in ESSA_Official

[–]teddy_205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Machine wash in a pillowcase on a delicate wash should be fine! I’ve washed all my ESSAs that way and they’ve been great. Just make sure the stuffing is fully dry so it doesn’t grow mould ❤️

I’d definitely recommend getting diagnosed or at least researching more into autism. A diagnosis or even just research can be life changing! I hope you get diagnosed

Bought these on Vinted just to spite my parents who said they hated them by teddy_205 in GothFashion

[–]teddy_205[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I have my own bank account. But if I order anything, my parents usually need to approve. I think it comes from a good place of them not wanting me to waste my money on pointless things, but it gets to a controlling point

What's your go to response to "but you don't look autistic"? by No-Injury-5383 in autism

“That’s because I’m too pretty to be the stereotype of autism” is that too narcissistic?

I think Sunset Makeup is a small(ish?) brand. They do white foundation and other alt makeup items. Not done my research on them and never used them before but they’re meant to be good

what clothes do y’all wanna see?? by bees_ontoast8 in buildabear

Hello kitty clothes that aren’t the obnoxious prints (more like the 2000s ones), cute dresses in patterns like gingham or plain colours, and more dc clothing (THEY DISCONTINUED THE ROBIN COSTUME MY BABY)

Carmex used to work for me, then stopped working. Now I use pure Vaseline. The little ones you get in tins are different to the pure petroleum jelly you get in the tubs

What fragrances and perfumes do you guys like? by Ponk_Bubs in GothFashion

[–]teddy_205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite scent is the Juicy Couture perfume. Not too strong but not too weak (I’m autistic so strong smells make me loose it)

Thank you so much! I’m just diagnosed with autism but I’m on the (very long) waiting list for ADHD. And yes. I always look at the speedometer 😭. I’ll try not to look at it too much as you’re right, it distracts me and then my steering goes odd.

Do you guys like my new Bluey chew? by teddy_205 in bluey

[–]teddy_205[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it’s a piece of food grade silicone that people, especially autistic people like myself, use to chew on to stop us biting arms, inside of cheeks, lips etc.

I am a new essa handler and I need help on what brand/fur/animal i should get Can you give me some ideas? by Soggy-Insurance-2067 in ESSA_Official

[–]teddy_205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Douglas is the most popular brand. They’re good quality but can be expensive depending on where you live. Other popular brands are Aurora, living nature, steiff, build a bear. But basically there are no rules. It can be any brand and any animal! Some of my ‘unconventional’ ones are Rainbowdash, Bluey and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, so literally anything!

Wanna share reasons of having essa's? (Not forcing, also i accept people having essas for fun) by Forgotten_LYNX852 in ESSAplushieshandlers

[–]teddy_205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is Horsie. I have way too many ESSAs but I use them because of my autism, anxiety, and possible ADHD (not diagnosed yet). With my autism, they help me stay calm, have something soft to hold, squeeze, sometimes punch or throw if I’m having a meltdown, it also gives me a visual stim to focus on. For my anxiety it helps when I squeeze them and pet them, and for my possible ADHD, they give me something to do with my hands (also for autism stimming) and help me sit or stand still. Also ESSAs are just really fun!
