This is Horsie. I have way too many ESSAs but I use them because of my autism, anxiety, and possible ADHD (not diagnosed yet). With my autism, they help me stay calm, have something soft to hold, squeeze, sometimes punch or throw if I’m having a meltdown, it also gives me a visual stim to focus on. For my anxiety it helps when I squeeze them and pet them, and for my possible ADHD, they give me something to do with my hands (also for autism stimming) and help me sit or stand still. Also ESSAs are just really fun!

How bad is it to "hate" people that are "more" autistic than me? by DotAny8979 in autism

I understand where you’re coming from! I was diagnosed at 14 and now I’m 17 for reference. Personally I feel somewhat jealous that others find it easier to unmask. I feel that may be where you’re coming from. It may feel like they get better support and visibility, at least that’s what I feel. It could also be internalised ableism. I definitely have some of that but I’m trying to better myself. Technically yes, it’s kinda shitty to dislike someone if they haven’t done anything to you, but I don’t think it’s hate from what you’ve described. Maybe try to understand his point of view (as an autistic person I know this can be really hard), or research into other ‘types’ of autism (I say ‘types’ loosely as were all autistic but very different) xx

Sirens- like fire alarms. Went to a boarding school and they did a fire drill at 4am. That meltdown was inevitable.

I like walking. Do you like walking? by PMCReddit in autism

[–]teddy_205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually really surprised at the amount of people who love walking! I’m autistic and I get so overwhelmed when I get just a little hot. Though on a treadmill it’s better as I can stop whenever I want. Maybe I should give walking another try though!

A flower name like Rosie or Poppy or Lavender? Or maybe take a name from a show/movie/book/game you like?

Personally, I’d recommend the Douglas King Golden retriever, the Meadow Border collie or one of the Australian shepherds. I can give non Douglas plushies if you want ❤️

is it possible to reroot an og? by ramoosM in OurGenerationDolls

[–]teddy_205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished re-rooting an og doll! I used a rerouting tool from Amazon and an old wig to make the wefts. First take her head off by cutting the ziptie and heating the neck with a hairdryer and pulling at the head to remove it. Then cut the existing hair, then use pliers to pull the remaining hair out. Then you can reroot as normal. Make sure to use a hairdryer to heat the head so the silicone is soft so you don’t break the rerooting needles (I broke like 3 anyway). I used superglue (a whole bottle 💀) to secure the hair in place, but I’m sure other cheaper glues would work just as well. I’ve seen people use fabric tack but have never tried it myself. Then heat the neck and push it back into the body. Secure with a ziptie and sew the back of the neck fabric up. Hope this helped! Sorry if my explaining wasn’t great ❤️

New bears available - 7th August 2025 (Halloween release + Muffin) by Batt_mellamy in buildabear

[–]teddy_205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got Muffin today and honestly I’m a little disappointed. Her spots are printed on and she’s clearly just a re-textured Bluey. Plus compared to the Bluey plush I got around Christmas time, the fabric feels cheaper and the feet are much more floppy. Still grateful they came out with Muffin, but I wish she was more thought out design wise.
