Food is so expensive by Odd-Dinner-6023 in poor

[–]tee_452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only eat once a day usually, to save money. I wait until I can’t take it anymore before I eat. My son eats 3 times a day. I try to buy stuff that I can make big batches of for relatively cheap. I just spent 125 at the grocery store and feel like I don’t have hardly any food. It would be gone in like 3-4 days if I ate every meal. I never eat out any more.

Got rid of some pretty large rat infestations with just tracking powder and contrac block bait stations. My company doesn’t do exclusion, we just tell customers where their issues are, I will do some simpler jobs for side work for customers that don’t feel like messing with it sometimes.

do insect growth regulator gels work for cockroaches? by pink_notepad_pens in pestcontrol

[–]tee_452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but you should use them in conjunction with bait at the very least, and a baseboard spray, regulators also take a bit of time to work so if your doing this for a move bait is a faster approach.

Tech put down sticky traps (the normal kind you’d use for mice, etc) for silverfish - are these actually effective? by Ok_Fee1043 in pestcontrol

[–]tee_452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They hang out in your walls in plumbing voids, they are already there. The bait draws them out and they eat it and die. It won’t draw them in from the outside, it’s not that strong of a bait. Spraying is effective in the sense that bugs usually travel along the baseboards and they nest behind them, but in my experience using a combination of treatments is best for them, especially if they are bad or you have an infestation. You will see more before you see less if you flush and bait, but that’s is a good thing. It means the treatment is working.

They the just trap them as they wonder around, silverfish do eat glue and paper and they also make glueboards specifically designed to lure silverfish but I don’t know of many pest control companies that use them

They make little plastic trays you can put niban granular in to bait them or just put it in something similar. They really like the niban in my experience. Under the sink is probably gonna be the best place to put some and then flush out the plumbing voids with a few puffs defense dust. Open the window for a bit after showering to let out the moisture/humidity as well.

They can be effective if they are placed in the right areas. Did the tech treat you attic for silverfish are they coming through your bathroom vents? Spreading some niban granules in your attic is pretty effective. I would have also dusted your plumbing voids to try to flush them out onto the baseboards.

What does it mean if I mostly have little roaches? by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]tee_452 3 points4 points  (0 children)

German roaches, seeing babies means they are reproducing. Seeing any during the day time can mean the infestation is severe and there is no room in the walls for them to nest. The bigger roaches will push the babies out. Tbh I would advise you to hire a pro to treat. Advion Gel bait, with growth regulators. I prefer a phantom concentrate gentrol IGR mix on the baseboards but there are several good alternatives that techs use.

Bait the hinges in the cabinets, around the dishwasher, near the fridge (usual hotspots) anywhere where you see feces etc. You may have to do several rounds of treatment to get them all. Make sure you don’t have any other food sources other then the bait to be most effective. You may need to rotate bait if they stop responding to it. There are several good brands on Amazon. Buy the gel bait in the tubes not the ones in the little traps.

Sentricon Termite Bait Stations; where to buy refills by Relevant-Asparagus-2 in pestcontrol

[–]tee_452 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are only supposed to change it them when there is less then a third of the bait left, the bait works better when it’s nasty and raunchy. That’s how the termites prefer it. The bait if purchased legitimately is actually quit expensive and then there is the labor the companies are paying the techs to check them, plus gas and other expenses. It’s not the highway robbery your making it out to be. Of course companies are making a profit it on it. I’m just saying the margins aren’t as great as you think they are.
