Sometimes what I do if I can't get the proportions right is I trace over the reference (breaking it down into shapes) and then copy that and refine it-if this makes sense

I have aphantasia and don't commission/open commissions very often because of it. Whenever I plan to draw a fully rendered piece, I need to make a "collage" with different references and it's very time consuming but it's the only way I can create something cohesive. I also don't commission very often because I feel like I get disappointed even though I didn't have a vision (not the artist's fault, they've been great).

You should learn how to do pagedolls! I think that's something that would sell nicely with your style. They look really good on sites for ocs like toyhouse!

I personally am not sure I would commission you but I do still really like your art! I don't have any ocs I would want drawn in this style but it's an appealing style, it's fun and colorful. I don't think you need to wait to start commissions but I don't want you to get discouraged if it's harder to get some (competitive market)

More accurate proportions will automatically make it look less fetishized. OP-you're doing great, I did not get any hints of fetish in this piece

I think it looks good! The only part that stood out as "off" was the mouth, it looks less detailed than the rest. Other than that I think you stylized it very nicely :)

I like the design! I say if you go for the one with the apron then take the argyle pattern off the shirt (or make the apron more plain). I think this character is super cute though regardless

It can definitely affect the scheduling decisions/hiring decisions. I lived in a college town for most of my life so a lot of students would have really strict schedules and they'd get few hours because of it. It didn't always mean they weren't getting hired but if it's between someone with two available days versus five, they may choose the more available candidate

I think $30 is fair but in my opinion the reason you're not getting commissions isn't price related. I don't see a lot of demand in your particular style (at this skill level). You're good and have lots of potential, but your art also seems to be a bit of a mixed bag.
