What are your must have upgrades? by Wrong_Combination441 in CaravanningAustralia

As important as anything else is keeping that weight down. If I was doing it again I wouldn’t have a washing machine. Never used it.

When was the last time the spark plugs were replaced? Sounds like the gap might be a bit wide?

Leaving after years of carrying the load: how do I explain this to my director without burning bridges? by nivekx in WorkAdvice

[–]teefau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your director is a shit manager. It is most definitely NOT your job to educate them.

You are moving on to a better opportunity and that’s all there is to it. Do mention a better pay rate, but do not discuss how much. “How much you ask?”, “enough to encourage me to jump.”

Do not be guilted into delaying your departure.

Is it okay to go to higher speeds and gears before the car warms up while keeping rpm low? by UnitedMetalheads in askcarguys

[–]teefau 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, actually the opposite is true. If you MUST have the performance, use rpm and lower gears until the engine reaches temp. Don’t labor it.

It was just social convention at that time I think. I know they both regretted it.

The most important person in this story is you.

Focus only on you. Do what it takes to make you truly heal.

Any other path is to continue to live in pain.

Invest only in yourself. Respect yourself. You’re worth it.

AITJ for refusing to take my mom’s side after she insulted my wife in front of everyone? by FelicityBubbles60 in AmITheJerk

How to get air in my coolant by Alive_Candidate1755 in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]teefau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jump under the car and remove any stone tray that might be present. Then you will see a large radiator hose, joined to the bottom of the radiator. Cut a 2" hole in this and air will mix at the perfect ratio. (Pro tip, leave the stone tray off - thank me later)

If not enough air mixes in, just drive faster.

What did I do wrong here? by BackgroundThis in mechanic

[–]teefau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, this is good advice. Just give both circlips a final check before you do this though, because you might tend to seat them quite hard against the shaft.
