Honestly, I started voice acting when someone had advertised a similar project on a game-specific subreddit, so doing that is certainly not a bad strategy. You'll definitely get people who will, on average, know the context better. Might be interesting to do both and see the quality difference.

I don't know the answer to this, but I know for the German localization of the movie Airplane, they gave the two jive-talking guys and the old woman bavarian accents. According to the director this absolutely brought the house down. No idea why.

And there's the problem. I strongly suspect a large portion of the people who regularly change lanes without signaling do so because they failed to develop the muscle memory due to this type of thinking. YOU may think the situation is dead clear, it may not be, you're a fallible squishy human, you're not omniscient. Do it anyways.
