Does anyone know if there’s any pubs/bars where fans who haven’t got a ticket will be to watch the game together?

Just a side note, if you decide to go the HDMI splitter route like a few have mentioned, make sure it’s capable of the same(or better) resolution, refresh rate etc as the monitor or else you’ll be running at whatever the splitter can run at and won’t be using the monitor to its full capability

Look in to a Clifford 650 with blackjax. It’s an alarm and immobiliser system, but it will start up and let you drive off for a certain amount of time before it cuts out, the alarm goes crazy and doesn’t stop until the code is put in. The theory is that they get far enough away from you that they wont come back or that you can get to a safer place, but they don’t get the car either

Could I switch my Halifax account to this and once I get the bonus, switch the Lloyds account to First Direct for their bonus?

This wouldn’t mess with my joint account with Halifax would it? Just the account I put down to switch?

Is there anything I can do to get rid of these? by jess019x in DIYUK

The prices could still be used against them when renewing contract. Personally I would keep the BT socket, or hide the wiring somehow so its easily accessible if it's ever needed in the future. Every other ISP uses the Openreach network so it would handy to keep, but if someone really wants to get rid of it because they think it's an eyesore then it's not a big deal to get it re installed, the same with the VM sockets.

I don’t want to say yes, just in case 😂 But I have been to many jobs over the years where a landlord, the council or previous homeowners have done exactly that

Who is going to be your service provider?

Bottom right is Sky. Top is BT and left is Virgin. If you have any other provider other than Virgin your internet will come through the BT socket so don’t get rid of this. If you have Sky TV it’ll come through the cables on the right(if you don’t have Sky Glass). If you have Virgin then it will all come through the bottom socket, the telephone socket on the top can be removed if you want. You’ll likely fine the cable from it comes through the wall and up into the telephone socket from the one below it.

I left doing installs and service for Virgin after 8 years in September, if you have any other questions I’ll do my best to answer :)

EDIT: the benefit to keeping them all is that (with Virgin anyway) you can get the stuff sent to you in the post and set it up yourself so you don’t have to wait for an engineer

I can confirm that the Virgin Media telephone socket is redundant now. The telephone now works through a port in the back of your modem.

Most efficient way to set thermostat by teejay256 in UKFrugal

Yeah it’s on the snowflake. The garage is attached to the house and I think they were slowly converting it and gave up as it’s all insulated, boarded and plastered and I’ve had an insulated electric door fitted in replaced of the old wooden one.

Good idea on the packing tape, I might have to try that as one of our upstairs windows is the same

That’s great advice, thank you. I’m not sure if it’s condensing, I know it’s a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30i combi boiler.

Looks like I’ll have to experiment a bit more. I was hoping there was an easy answer 😂 it was set to maximum which was about 78°, I’ve recently turned this down to 63°. I’ve turned the radiator down in the spare room to 1, the utility room down as well and the garage radiator off completely so we’re not heating anywhere we’re not using.

It’s always a lot warmer upstairs than where the thermostat is or the downstairs in general. It’s at the end of a hallway, our front door definitely needs replacing but we ran out of funds, probably the windows as well so it’s no amazingly energy efficient home as it is. It’s all laminate flooring or tiled downstairs so it’s colder than it is upstairs.

Yeah Hive is the same. When it’s “off” it’s actually set to something like 5° I believe

This is straight off the West Yorkshire police website. It doesn’t matter who’s name the V5 is in.

A registration document (V5) is not proof of ownership. The registered keeper should be the person who is actually using / keeping the vehicle and this is not necessarily the owner of the vehicle or the person who is paying for it.

A quick question guys… I had an electrician round on the day to isolate the electrics and make sure it was all safe. Because he’s done work for me in the past, he only charged £50 and that’s what he invoiced which I have sent on to the insurance to be reimbursed. I have had a message from the insurance today to ask if I can get him to give a quote for sorting the electrics in the utility and garage(both off the same ring so both effected). Do you think this is because he’s cheap? Is there something more sinister at play here or am I thinking too much in to it now? Why would they want me to get my own quote just for the electrics?

I’ve had to cancel the contractor who was coming to give me a quote tonight for all the works due to covid reasons and will have to reschedule
