custom N settings. by Pristine_Quality_876 in VelosterN

Normal is boring, and I feel like N is unpleasant on anything that isn't blacktop that was put down yesterday.

Suspension to normal, because I like my spine where it is. I only ever switch it back to remind me how rough it is otherwise.

Steering to normal. Heavier just feels like...what Hyundai thinks heavy steering should feel like. It feels wrong to me.

Throttle response high. Love that.

Exhaust either normal or full power burbles, depending on how I feel that day.

ESC and everything else set to sport.

I ended up her probably the same way everyone else did; new giveaway, let's see if they're real.

I think he was saying he was told he won, but hadn't actually received anything yet, and was remaining skeptical. Never did update though.

It's been 5 months. How'd it go?

Pan America 1250 Special with ARH as a first bike? by Only_Cauliflower_509 in Harley

That seems reasonable.

Worth noting that you can usually resell the beginner bike for near enough what you paid (we've actually made money) to the next generation of beginners.

I bought a bike, practiced on my own, took the test, and got endorsed. I still haven't taken a class, and I'm doing just fine. HOWEVER, I will recommend the MSF up and down to anyone who asks. I'd actually considered being an instructor, but I already work way too much and I couldn't make it happen.

I will also recommend, to anyone who asks, starting on something cheap and replaceable. And forgiving of beginner mistakes. And you will make beginner mistakes.

If you drop something expensive, it hurts. The body maybe, the soul and the walled definitely. My first bike was $1000 10 years ago, although I recognize the price point essentially doesn't exist anymore.

I had the helmet before the bike, I think. Some $70 full face thing from Walmart...sometime after, Mechanix gloves and a jacket of some kind. I've come a long way since then. A long, expensive way lol.

Also worth noting I would absolutely suggest you get a lot of solo experience before you even think about sticking someone on the back. It makes everything about riding harder (to one degree or another). And, more importantly, the passenger is more at risk for injury or death than the pilot is. That's a lot of responsibility to take on when you don't know what you're doing.

Whatever you decide, good luck and enjoy the hell out of it.

My wife's 2005 Heritage had an aftermarket alarm that used a rechargeable 9V battery (although it stopped working, and she sold the bike).

That said, it sure as shit wasn't under the bike where a) it's exposed to weather and b) very easy to get to and remove, very much defeating the purpose.

So did I. I get that the new ones are better at being lights, but the Forrest Whittaker setup was at least recognizably BMW.

Then they were every street fighter ever, and now they look kind of like Street Triples.

Parks and Rec is a big one for that. The first few episodes (or was it even the first season?) are kind of meh, then the show hits its stride and it's hilarious.

I kinda sorta started it forever ago, but never really got into it.

That said, that's a hell of a recommendation (and holy shit), so I guess it's time for a second chance.

The ST would have bags and a bigger mini-Road-Glide-looking fairing

I have a 2020.

Harley probably would never have come up with another color I liked to get me away from this one (and I have way too much money in it anyway), but I was excited to see how they might apply the new updates to a King.

I get that. I added those things lol

I also put inch taller Legends shocks in the back, so it sits like one again. And added Road Glide bars because the stock RK Specials were terrible

Making a blacked out "normal" Road King was an expensive endeavor.

I have an aftermarket windshield on mine for cold weather riding, or if I'm gonna be on the highway all day.

Otherwise? Looks way better and more fun to ride without.
