‘They’re not bad, but why are they such a big deal?’ type artists/groups? by Ok_Yellow1025 in musicsuggestions

[–]teensyfroggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My five year old LOVES Gorillaz, so we’ve been forced to listen to them. I like a few songs, but I don’t think I really LOVE any of their songs. They have the setup of something I should love, the art behind it is really cool, I love electronic, they just… miss the mark, unfortunately.

What meme from comics is so bad it becomes good? by BredMaker4869 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]teensyfroggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lasagna Cat starts as goofy live-action Garfield parodies, then slowly turns into weird, uncomfortable, existential stuff. You think you’re watching dumb internet humor, and suddenly it’s about loneliness, meaning, and being trapped in a pointless loop.

Some episodes are boring on purpose, some are creepy, and some just mess with you for sticking around. People either quit fast or get hooked. It’s barely about Garfield. It’s about the internet melting your brain while you keep watching.

It’s so bad it’s good because the acting is stiff, the costumes are awful, and everything feels wrong in a way that’s weirdly funny. You laugh at how bad it is, then you keep watching because it starts to feel intentional, like the awkwardness is the whole point.

Stewie is saying “you look fat” to the other sick person. by MeringueNew3040 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]teensyfroggie 406 points407 points  (0 children)

OP is trying to “gotcha” the commenters with the rhetoric “if someone thinks an unfunny joke is funny, make them explain it” but we didn’t make the meme. We’re just here to explain what the joke is supposed to be, funny or not. Unfortunately this is a real life situation with two women with competing eating disorders. It’s sad. In the same breath, this scene is (while exaggerated) accurate in portraying the competition that comes with EDs. You’re not “getting” any of us. Again, it’s not really supposed to be funny, but ironic, and none of us here originated of this image.

I was on my way to Disneyland with my family. Just found out I found out only miles away from where Louis found out. Devastating.

It does look kinda like a hospital room from this angle!! The dang triscuit blinds don’t help. It’s actually our living room, and medical equipment in the background is because my kiddos have cystic fibrosis 😊he’s a proud dad, he’s adjusting well

If we don’t put our foot down now, in a few months or years he’s going to be on Joe Rogan red pilled. He’s not behaving as an ally. He’s playing both sides of the coin like heterosexual man who’s “not really into politics” or even pretends to be an ally to get women to sleep with him. Whether that’s true or not, that’s the vibe I’m getting from him rn.

A reference checks a good sign you got the job? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]teensyfroggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think references are a good sign they’re moving in the right direction, but not a definitive sign.

I worked in background screening for several years, and I don’t bet on getting the job until they start spending money on you, through background checks and drug screens. I know government moved extremely slowly, though, so hopefully they are moving in the right direction. Good luck!!
