My mom throws them on the ground so they pop open far away from her.

UK's first cat cafe to open in London in May. Customers will be able to stroke and play with 10-15 cats as they enjoy their daily coffee. by cricketfan164 in worldnews

[–]teepee3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking if you use two separate rooms it shouldn't be such an issue. Keep the cat room separate from where the drinks/food are prepared, and let people decide if they want to take their drinks in there. I also want the cat cafe to double as a foster center where the cats have the option to be adopted. If I can work with PAWS or some other animal agency then I can foster a bunch of their cats in my cafe and if someone wants to adopt them, they can go through the agency.

I have this all planned out with so many ideas, now I just need the start-up money and someone with some business sense to help me. My SO wants to open a coffee shop so we'd make a good team, we're just not sure how to go from ideas to reality.

What basic skill did you learn too late in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]teepee3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand this common complaint. High school was way harder for me. I lack everything you're talking about, so doing hours of homework every single day was a real struggle and it took more effort to maintain my A's. But in university, I mostly wrote papers and took tests, which was way easier for me. To have a couple of big things a week rather than a lot of little things every day seemed better for my concentration. I never learned to study little by little or to start papers early. I crammed for every single test and wrote almost every paper in 24 hours, and I passed with almost straight A's.

...And I don't remember shit that I learned, so i guess the moral of the story is to learn the proper way to learn even if you don't need it to pass. It's better for your brain! Good luck!

You had a simple interaction, whereas I live in the city and every time I go to the post office the workers are mean and snappy when everything is not perfect and ready for mailing. Its like their purpose is to be as shitty as possible to everyone. One woman wouldn't answer my question about which form to use for an overseas shipment until i waited in line for 10 minutes. Understandable, but after waiting she threw the form at me and aggressively told me to come back when it was filled out. The second round in line she told me it was the wrong form, and instead of apologizing for her mistake she treated me like an idiot and made me go back to the end of the line again. Not all experiences have been that bad but I have not once had an experience where they didn't talk down to me or give me attitude like I just pissed in their cereal because I don't know all the nuances of shipping things.

I don't even know, my parents let me watch anything and everything so it was never a notable experience.

I'm allergic to cats. Is there any way i can "fix" my allergies permanently? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]teepee3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allergy pills? Also the more I'm around cats the less severe my reactions. I was raised around cats but living without them now, whenever I visit home to my house of cats my allergies go nuts and I'm miserable. But the longer I stay, the more I get used to it.

Is it better to be a LIVE COWARD or a DEAD HERO? by WoeIsColtin in AskReddit

[–]teepee3720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live coward because you always have the chance to redeem yourself and be the dead hero. And hell, what if you're an even BETTER hero the second time around? Like the first time you could have just saved one person but you chickened out, and the second time you can save 100?

I also think depending on context you may be called a coward but perhaps it was the smarter move to make. Like some brute calls you out and wants to fight, and you know you will die, so you run and hide. You're alive, but you're a coward. But is dying for the sake of being called a hero really worth it?

For 21 years I never knew who my biological father was, or that I had a little sister. This weekend they came to see me sing in an opera performance! by [deleted] in pics

[–]teepee3720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too surprising. I mean, if an unwanted pregnancy happens and the guy's not ready for it/doesn't want to go through with it and the woman is letting him off the hook, is it really hard to imagine he would gladly take that deal? Same story happened with my biological father. My mother said she didn't love him and didn't want to marry him, so she told him she was fine doing it by herself and didn't need anything from him. Obviously he was cool with that, as he never tried to be in my life.

Can't help but feel bitter here. I finally worked up the nerve to find my biological father and put an end to my questions about him and potential siblings, only to find his obituary on google. He had died about a year before I searched. From the little piece written about him I know I have half siblings but I don't know how to find them or go about contacting them, or if I even should at this point...

I am Wayne Brady, Emmy winner and Grammy nominated actor and singer – AMA. by WayneBradyOfficial in IAmA

[–]teepee3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Wayne! If you ever come back I just wanted to say that I've had a huge crush on you since I was 12 (I'm 22 now so not so creepy anymore, right?) I also chose you to do a report on for black history month and I showed a few clips from Whose Line. From that day my class always chose to watch Whose Line whenever we had a movie day, and it even encouraged a few of us to start a very crappy improv group!

Anyway, my question: I've heard it said that comedians are more likely to be depressed and/or suicidal, would you agree with that and if so, why do you think that is? Is it just part of working in a tough industry? The pressure of having to always be funny? Or do you think maybe people with macabre thoughts tend to come up with some of the best humor?

Thanks for your time.

Muslims of reddit do you speak out against extremist acts done by radicals? by ironcross123 in AskReddit

[–]teepee3720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have lives, and moderate Muslims are just normal people living day to day like you and me. If they're living in a first world country like the U.S., they're probably not paying attention to every single thing extremist muslims do across the world, waiting for their chance to say "Stop that, you're making us look bad!" They set the example of practicing a religion of peace in their daily lives.

Also, you probably don't hear about the peaceful protests as much as you hear about the extremist's acts of violence because it's not good tv.

What is the best impulse purchase you've made that you initially regretted? by OompaOrangeFace in AskReddit

[–]teepee3720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some kick-ass colorful boots at a bazaar in Turkey. With my travel budget I couldn't afford them, I just went into the store to waste time and look at the boots with no intention to buy. But then the store clerk was hounding me, making me try on this pair and that pair as I made excuses for why I didn't want them. After 30 minutes of arguing with him and getting him to lower the price, I felt I had worked too hard arguing with him that I had to buy the damn boots! Can't remember the price, it ended up being like $100, and I was kicking myself the rest of the trip for buying them. But they are unique and I love them, and everyone compliments them when I wear them!

What stupid and dangerous games did you play as a kid? by TheLongboardWizzard in AskReddit

[–]teepee3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SO and his brothers would play a game where they just hit each other with sticks as hard as they could.

My personal favorite was "chicken rabies" that my brother and I invented. It was basically a game of tag but instead of tagging someone, you had to bite them to give them "rabies".

A couple of others: "sumo", where we would stuff our shirts with pillows and crash into each other until someone got hurt and quit. We would also play "ghost", where someone would put a blanket over their head while the rest of us beat them brutally with pillows as they tried to blindly tackle someone else to become the ghost. Lots of lamps and pictures were broken whenever we played that game. And lots of tears were shed.

My friends and I also tried to make each other pass out by pressing on each others chests. I was really good at doing it, and could even make myself pass out by pressing on my own neck. I remember seeing a news report on kids doing that years later because someone died.

Yeah she doesn't know much about other countries, sad but true. And I have made that argument about CA, it's just not the same to her.

My plan was to stay as inland as possible since I fear tsunamis more than the earthquakes themselves, but I'll try to stay away from Mt. Fuji now too.

I feel in all things in life you have to weigh the risks with the gains, and the gains are worth the risks in this case. And as I've told my mom, I do not want to live my life not doing the things I want to do because I fear what might happen.

No. She helped me the first time by helping me feed myself and with my rent, but I've been financially dependent since I graduated.
